New to P1 Thanks to Gary (linden Ford) for the invite My name is Chris Lord Located in the big land down under. I'm a self confessed Rubber Gauger/scaler and will give any thing a try that takes my fancy, like as Leadie69 Ian said in his post, I was the one who told Ian he had become a Rubber Gauger so I can say Ian is the micro rubber fron down under I'm the maxi rubber from down under. I was raised as a railway modeller some thing that I haven't gone away Cars and girls arrived but unlike many building and running model trains is something that hasn't stopped I am currently building in O and Hon3 I model Australian UK US prototype At one stage I did have a room in the house as a train room with 3 levels of layouts the top most at eye level running round the room past the window through the wall into the built in closet and out the other side. However with a planed future move this needed to be returned to a bedroom didn't think was a good house selling feature trains running through the walls. I know it's a dream of many and at least I can say I have done it. Currently have 6 layouts on the go but don't have a dedicated modelling room or shed, We have a back deck that is enclosed and I get to use this to set up a layout and work on it, as long as the Pooltable in the middle of the area that is set up with a table top can be accessed to become a dinning table when guests arrive Currently I have my Oscale NSWGR layout "Moonan Flat" set up and am working on a small section of my Hon3 Rio Grande shelf layout. My other layouts Lizard Ridge "On30", East Maitland "O", Lock Tay"OO", and an un named "O" are in storage with a couple of Dioramas as well. As I work out how to use this forum platform I will post some Photos of my layouts. Attached files
G'day Chris, Fantastic that you could join us and I'm sure you will enjoy the forum as we move forward. Once you're settled in and have worked the forum out (not too hard), start up your layout threads in the appropriate section, as we are all keen to see what you have to offer. If you have any questions, fire away, there'll be someone not too far away with an answer. Cheers, Gary. ps, that layout looks familiar...
Hi Chris I'd normally say wow but with the impending move it's gonna be how? Looking forward to your posts. Ian

I am looking forward to seeing some of your postings. I am seeing Gary this afternoon so I will mention I`ve replied to you. We need more Aussies to balance the forum. Cheers Gormo from Sydney
Welcome aboard Chris, great to have you with us Hope you find that 'dream location' we all want, A small cottage that is quick and easy to maintain with a huge annex for the train room http://www.click looking forward to seeing more Cheers Matt
Thanks every one for the welcomes http://www.click I've had a good look around and like what I see and trying to get a read on various people from the banter. I'm one that doesn't take my modelling too serious chasing the last rivet, I really just like running trains not too bothered by the scale or type but I do like doing some fine modelling. My modelling interests are varied and not just steam Attached files
Hi again Chris, That's a great image of the loco's. Any more that you are willing to surrender to us. Very striking and powerful looking loco's. Thanks Toto
I once tried counting rivets, had to stop at 30 as the wife point blank refused to take her shoes and socks off Cheers Matt
Toto wrote: Thanks Toto one more photo below Re Mats rivet comment Mat those type of rivet's will get you in trouble esp if that post was to get out. A couple of loose jumbucks watch 3213 run round its train Attached files
That's a great looking 44 Class, I love these locos, my all time favourite diesel. I only have two of these in HO, one a Lima and the other Trainorama... Cheers, Gary.
Gary wrote: Thanks Gary Yes the 44 class is my choice too one of my earliest memories is watching double 44's on the Brisbane limited thundering through the level crossing at Woy Woy when I was a little tacker. Have a few of the 44's like you a Lima and TrainOrama in HO then 3 O scale ones bit of a 44 tragic even wanted to by a 12inch to the foot one when they were sold off in the auction at Cardiff but couldn't find anywhere that I could store one at the time. The preservation groups didn't want to know back then now they want them as they are the most reliable for non stream services. Another photo of some 44's
