Despite being a recent convert to Xuron track cutters, I do not want to challenge them by trying to cut O gauge track. Having run out of cutting disks for my 'Dremel' I decided to try a junior hacksaw, and very soon gave up that idea. So I ordered some cutting disks off Amazon for the princely sum of £4.23 for 36. The reviews varied from 'total @#*$' to 'good for the money'. I am very much in the latter category, in fact I would say they are excellent for the money. They neatly slice through the track with no obvious wear on the disk. I cannot vouch for them for other applications, but for track cutting they are a bargain.
Keep checking Middle of Lidl as they keep having offers on slitting disks as well. Recently got 30 slitting disks and 30 220 grit self adhesive sanding disks for 3 to 4 pound. Paul
Yes, I went to Lidl on Sunday in the hope they would have some, but it is mainly gardening stuff at the moment. I have just discovered that Argos sell quite a nice looking set of mini drill accessories. https://www.argos.co.uk/product/3112562
I’ve bought 5 metal “saw” cutting discs inc mandrill from Boyes today. All different sizes. £5.50- suitable for wood and plastic. Not sure re metal, but possibly.. Just don’t do as I did and put the text side to the front. disc then spins wrong way.
