As mentioned on the Inglenook's forum, I have decided to build a plank, as opposed to the Disraeli Gears inglenook. I used the same 4 x 1 baseboard but extended it by 12" at both ends. The reason for the name change is that "Disraeli Gears" would have been the name of the factory, but the new layout would have no factory. I toyed with the idea of naming the coal merchants as Disraeli Gears but, when I saw the burnt wood on the end of the extension (the plumber had been sweating a solder-feed joint onto a piece of pipe, and had used the piece of wood to stop the flame burning the garage floor), the name seemed to suggest itself.

The layout is not yet complete, but far enough along for me to post it here, for you comments.

    Thanks all.

Few areas needing improvement come to light with the photo's; the bubbles on the backscene, the satin finish on the backscene (will ghiant inkjet spray work on a photograph?) and the grass inbetween the tracks - some scraping and toning down needed.
