Pictures will be posted shortly. Nice kit with quite a bit of fold up tabs etc in order to make construction that bit easier. Cheers Toto
and ..... the pictures. the usual pretty comprehensive instructions. Jim has this marketed as a skill builder kit. I'm not so sure. A beautiful kit but I think its maybe a bit further on as a skill builder. Maybe just me. The main etches with quite a lot of slot and tab construction. that gets a thumbs up from me. the preformed roof and some brass rodding which will be for the handrails and braking system I'd think. The usual white metal list with axle boxes and various other fitments. Now ....... the icing on the cake which I think deserves a mention........ a white metal figure. whilst maybe not totally unique in Jims kits, I think its a great addition. I did not realise it was included until I unpacked the kit for the first time today. ........ nice touch Jim. cheers toto
Nice. You are going to be busy over the next couple of weeks. A layout too get ready and several kits to put together, paint, line and number.... Cheers, Gary.
Gary wrote: Didn't you get the memo Gary condition of your entry to the UK is that you will knock them up in the first few hours get paint on that night as you will be on a Ozzy time body clock and they can dry on the way to the show you can kip in the van on the way followed by decals on the morning of the show before the doors open. you'll be right with that
very little of these will see Elgin. Layout first and then maybe the odd wagon or two. Most will be RTR and limited. I will be going on a kit building spree between the end of November ( post Elgin ) and february / march. cheers toto
Another one of these on order to replace the one I swapped out with Rob. They are a really nice kit. Had to have another one. I won't bother with any pictures this time as they are above. Cheers Toto
This is looking like the next in line for the soldering work bench after the current project ( 20 ton BR Standard Brake van ) is complete. I'll put my neck on the block and say I am going to attempt a floor and seating into this as well. This kit also has the option for a compensated chassis / bogie type build. This is a cracker of a kit. I'll be interested to see what Rob's turns out like when he gets the chance to build his. I think the phrase " chalk and cheese " springs to mind. Cheers Toto
Hi Toto, Unless you have a desire to do more of the same to build up your proficiency in adding the extras? I would suggest perhaps that you do you consider doing your Lowfit next because it will give you experience of slightly different techniques to those that you have used so far. Just a suggestion
Ha Ha, does that mean that you don't plan to add brakes to the Brake Vans then? - Sort of defeats the object though
Mines is a crash test dummy they will be there it's just some are more involved than others. I'll need to build myself up to those.
