    G`day Folks,

Well here we are again running trains.!!

I believe that`s why we build model railways, so let`s remember to not get too caught up in the detail and have some fun and run some trains.

This is also a special episode for me as my YouTube subscribers has just crept over the 200 mark. 203 in fact.!!!.... I never planned to seek subscribers as such, but I guess the number is bound to increase as more people sign up to my channel, as they themselves have subscribers, who in turn will look at other peoples subscriptions, which in turn creates an exponential growth in subscriptions..........I think????:scratchchin:

Well it`s all about sharing knowledge in this hobby, and I have learned a lot from other peoples video how to`s, and hopefully I have been of some help to other people.

So folks.....some of the filming was done with a mirror. A technique I`m going to explore further and develop if I can. The down side with using a mirror is that the images are reversed, however Windows Moviemaker has a feature that will allow you to reverse the images in a clip, therefore the mirror image is then mirror reversed to look correct.

The technique lets you film from impossible locations so I will continue to work at it.....I just need a bigger mirror.!!!!.....I`ll have to look into that...????:avatar:

    Enjoy the running session..:handshake:

    Hi Gormo,

Very enjoyable as always. There is something very satisfying in just watching trains run. Maybe it's in the knowledge that you have made it happen. The sum total of all your efforts to date.

I switched on for the first time in ages to test my 37 out for sound after changing the speaker over. A mixed bag as far as success goes but before I switched off, I took the opportunity to run my super reliable class 24 ....... Even with a dirty track.

I've promised myself to take some time to run a very clever track cleaner over it which was supplied to me by a equally as clever gent of this parish ........... Can't for the life of me remember who he is :scratchchin: ...... It'll come back to me :avatar:

    Cheers

    Toto

    Thanks Toto,

Let me know when you remember who gave you the track cleaner.????:scratchchin:

Yes mate.....run some trains....it`s therapeutic......you then have the satisfaction of knowing what you are creating actually works.!!

The times that Gary has been over, and we inevitably finish up out in the shed, I usually run some trains, but we are so busy talking that the trains just circulate on their lonesome creating that clickety clack, ambient background noise.

It`s all part of the journey and the friendships that come from it.

Andrew.......I have two cameras. The main one is a Sony HDR PJ240E with built in projector. It takes video and stills in wide screen format.

and the second one is a sports camera but an el cheapo version brand name "Topo". This one takes HD video and stills and I have it mounted to a flat car for those drivers eye videos you would have seen in the latest video.

    G`day Ron,

    Got it on Ebay mate.

    http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2050601.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.Xtopo+sports+camera.TRS0&_nkw=topo+sports+camera&_sacat=0

This page has a few of them at various prices. The cheapest one seems to be in Hong Kong.

Because of it`s small size and price, the settings have to be managed with the camera plugged into a laptop or pc.....no big deal!!!....just thought I`d let you know.

All I do actually is take the video, plug the camera into the laptop and transfer the files to the hard drive. The files on the camera can then be deleted whilst it`s plugged into the laptop.....Simple really.??

    G`day Ralph,

    No......had no problem at all.

What system are you running.???.......I am on Windows 10.

I`ve just got out my instructions again, and it says that the first time you run the camera with the memory card you should format / clear the memory card. Your camera / system may be doing this automatically to prepare the card for the camera. If it`s a new memory card there should be no data on it therefore nothing to lose so, I would allow it to format the card and in theory that should get it sorted. If you`ve already filmed something previously, you will lose that I`m afraid, but from here on it should be OK.

Once past the format stage, go and film anything and then plug the camera back into the USB port. The camera should turn on automatically once you plug into the computer and your computer should recognize the camera as a removable drive and in turn, open up and show you the content of the drive / camera.

If that works...( fingers crossed )....it should be OK from there on.

    Hope this helps.
