    G`day Folks,

    Welcome to another Gormo`s Shed,

This week I think the title pretty much says it all, so we won`t hang about waffling on and describing what`s going to be in the video because that would be silly just doubling up on the information, so we won`t go there, but rather I will just direct you to the video links below because, as you will see, all the information is contained in the video, as usual, and I do enough waffling on in the video.

Thanks folks.......I know you will understand about me keeping the written description brief this time...........:avatar::avatar::avatar::avatar:

Excellent video Gormo! I was thinking while watching the heat gun working, if you used a paint scraper while the poly is soft, it would be possible to create strata, the paint finish was good, using different colours blended together makes it look more realistic rather than a uniform colour, Toptastic mate .

    Thanks Pete,

Good idea about the paint scraper.........I never thought of that but it should work I reckon..

One of my YouTube subscribers has asked for a quick update showing the rock face with the paint dry, so I guess I`ll organize that tomorrow night. It only needs to be a short update.....should be easy enough. Maybe I`ll throw in a bonus for him with your idea, in that, I`ll do another piece of polystyrene and try the strata layers. Should be interesting.????

    Well done Gormo,
How do you keep your workshop so clean? It always seems so neat.
My workshop is like an explosion happened.

    Thanks Andrew,

I have regular clean ups ,because when I`m working on a project it just gets into a mess. So when you see it on video, it`s in between one mess and another......:avatar::avatar::avatar::avatar:

Would you mind coming over and cleaning up after me Gormo...?? :avatar::avatar:

Another great demonstration video. Whilst you are giving Pete's idea a run, try dragging a old wire brush up the surface of the soften polystyrene..., (please ! ;))

    Cheers, Gary.

I`ll just put my apron on and slip into my high heels......I`ll be over in half an hour:avatar::avatar::avatar::avatar:

OK folks......I have acted on your suggestions.

    Pete ....yours is very good

Gary.....yours I`m not sure.????......maybe I`m not aggressive enough with it or maybe I need a heavier wire brush......or maybe I`m just doin` it wrong.?????

Anyway there is an update video below........enjoy.!!

Once again, another great video/update on an already good idea.

The strata lines using the paint scraper/spatula worked well indeed. I'm guessing that the wire brush doesn't work as well as the scraper as it tends to roll the molten polystyrene up, as one lump. Regardless, it was great to see what the results could possibly have been.

Now I'm wondering what the results be if you heated up the paint scraper... :scratchchin:

    Cheers, Gary.

It appears the paint scraper is more effective on the unpainted side Gormo, and you have to be quick getting in there as the poly' sets fast after the gun is taken away, its a shame the wire brush isn't as effective, I wonder if the metal brush acts as a heat sink and cools the poly' to fast, maybe an old tooth brush may be a better tool :scratchchin:.

    G`day Gary and Pete,

Yes I think Gary has got it.!!!!!

I reckon first create your formation with the heat gun and then put the gun aside.

Then heat up the paint scraper and give the formation a few quick hits with the hot scraper.

That should give us the strata lines without too much damage to what is already there.????

Sounds like another video on the way.??????.........maybe later..???????
