This was my star buy at Telford 2017. A kit with brass, resin and white metal. I'm thinking that this will be built with 2 part epoxy and araldite ( advice from my technical advisor Pete ). This will definately be making an appearance as part of my maintenance rake. ..... I love this kit. Pictures will follow. Cheers Toto
Snap, just started to build one for my maintenance train as well, nice looking kit, should go together quite easily
Possibly, as I believe he was sleeping with all his new shinnies tucked up in bed with him last night
Mmmmmm, this could be an interesting build, combining the three most common kit building materials all rolled into one kit.......bring it on! Keith.
You could be right Keith ....... and here are the parts ....... first the crane truck body ...... not much to it really ....... Then the match truck ......... looks quite good ...... and with separate box lids which could be modeled either open or closed. then ........ the gubbins ......... I take it to be some crane fitments ..... I haven't read the destructions as yet. buffer stocks, springs, couplings and some chain. Buffer doofers, and axle boxes etc in white metal. The rest of the crane fitments .... again ..... in white metal. and there we have it. nice model. cheers toto
I think you were correct the first time Gary. I'll be experimenting with the temperature adjustable soldering centre prior to going any further with the white metal. That will need to be quite soon. cheers toto
Luckily a lot of those parts won't need the strength of soldering and glueing will be a option with a lot of it. Toto looks like a very comprehensive kit and will make a Star model for the layout.
Looking forward to having a go with it. I'll be consent rating mainly on RTR stuff for Elgin but as soon as it's over, I plan on having a kit fest over December to January. I hope to tackle all the kits that will make up my maintenance rake. Toto
I'm thinking I could polish this orf over a couple of days so may just knock this out whilst waiting the 4F build. Hmmmmm, I'll have a look at this later today. I'm nearly stuck on my coach build as well whilst I await a delivery of parts from Roxey Miuldings. ..... yes ...... go for it. Toto
