Whilst searching for small station buildings in kit form, I came across this company : Laser Cut Railway Models https://www.lasercutrailwaymodels.co.uk/. They have a variety of railway buildings in OO and O gauge and I would like to know if any member here has cobbled one together as I'm thinking of purchasing the small station building (https://www.lasercutrailwaymodels.co.uk/O-Gauge-Station-Small-Size) and a signal box (https://www.lasercutrailwaymodels.co.uk/Fine-Scale-O-Gauge-Signal-Box-Left-Hand). They look like sturdy kits and the benefit compared to the L-Cut product is that you won't have to piece as many individual sections together and these are cheaper ! Any thoughts or advice on these kits would be appreciated. Cheers, Gary.
I can't advise on any, but next time you do a search, I can offer a good start point here:- Lumsdonia links, Laser Cut Quite a few more options!
Just ordered the station building, but decided on the reasonably new release of the LMS style signal box from L-Cut (http://www.lcut.co.uk/index.php?product=B 70-25L&title=B 70-25L). Originally the price for the LCRM station building was £30.00, but when I went back to the site, it came up as £24.00... But it cost £15.00 for postage...! Cheers, Gary.
Looks very neat and a reasonable price as well. I'm sure a man of your calibre will improve the doors as I think they would greatly improve by cutting out the inner panels. Looking forward to the build photo's. Paul
You have me a little confused timbersurf. If you can't advise on the subject, what good is redirecting folks to your own site ? I'm assuming the answer wont be there either. If there are subjects / questions you can advise on ..... thats great. However, this is not a feeder forum from which to simply promote your own site. I think we have touched on this before. I have no objection to you providing an additional resource for our members to use and benefit from but I really have to question your intention. Play fair ....... or play elsewhere. cheers Toto
To tell the truth I haven't heard of this supplier so I cannot comment on their products. However they look pretty good from their photos. You will have to let us know how you get on with them. Cheer's, Pete.
Toto, I admit I can offer nothing on the original posters question, but on the basis that this supplier has only just been 'discovered', I felt that I could direct anyone reading this thread, to the fact that there may be many others (19+), that they not have 'discovered', to choose from. I do not monetise my site and gain nothing by people visiting it, other than I am helping the community with a useful resource. The link is not to my front webpage, or even the top of the links page, but directly to the useful URL's list, related to Laser cutting companies. I thought the web, forums and modelling communities was designed for sharing? Let me know if that is not the case and I will vaporise from your pages!
The original question was based on a specific supplier whom you knew nothing about. Pointing to other suppliers sites was not answering the question, simply diverting people to your site. As I have said before, I have no issue linking with other sites and I dare say that your site has lots of useful links. However, in my eyes your actions were seen as a blatant trawl. I am more than happy and appreciative to have you post on the forum. Should you however decide to vapourise from the forum, as disappointing as that may be ..... That is your choice. toto
I've just caught on to the fact that you are talking about L cut creative kits. I have q couple Gary. They are quite finely detailed. The parts are quite thin and fine but are sturdy enough. I wouldn't have any issue buying them. If I can locate them from the shed which is quite possible given the upheaval at the moment in there, I'll post up some pictures of the parts. It will be Friday at the earliest though as I'm off to work for the week now. Cheers Toto
The station building is from Laser Cut Model Railway and the signal box and coal merchant is from L-Cut Creative. Cheers, Gary.
I am confused Toto, Timbersurf's post just pointed to a site in which his website, amongst others, was there for all to see To me , no different than this site http://www.nevard.com/links.html which
I don't have an issue with his website Sol. It looked like although he couldn't offer any advice he was just directly diverting through to his own site. Why would you do that if it was not helping to offer a specific answer to the question. Just for clarity, timbersurfs website link is on the forum with my approval. He reciprocated by creating a platform 1 link. I also encourage folks to use as many sources of information as they can, the forum is do much more richer for it in terms of the information available. The post in question Just did not serve any other purpose other than to divert traffic. I could be wrong Toto
In actual fact, I had a look and there is some good links in there. Very much tempted with a O gauge wooden midland signal box. Needs some mods though... However, I do see where Toto was coming from... maybe it was how it was worded rather than the ill intent to redirect.
Hi Gary, I`m just back from Qld.......I am still amazed that when we cross back over the border into NSW, we feel considerably smarter....... I have just had a look at those laser cut kits and there is some good stuff on that site. I thought it would be all O gauge but there is OO gauge as well........very good..... I like the station valances.........they may well suit some buildings I`m considering for my platforms. They will have to be scratch built and the valances may save a bit of work. Thanks for the link. Gormo
I’ve just had a kit arrive from railmodel.co.uk It’s a MR signal box based on one of my local boxes. It’s a first for me (again) so wish me luck. I’m going to do a thread on it. It’s a 4mm box that’s been commissioned by myself.
I have just purchased another Laser Cut Railway Models kit, this time an O gauge goods shed. Just like the station building kit I purchased back in May, this looks to be as good ! Cheers, Gary.
I’ve finally made a start on the wooden 4mm signal box... but I’m still looking for my tread so I can update it!
