    Nice one Ed.

With the Lima's have you changed the wheels, and if so what did you use. With my Lima's, I have used Hornby wheel sets but the axels are too long, so its like having the brakes permanently on.

Original wheels Paul, think these must have been some of the last coaches produced as they're metal and spin freely.

Allegedly these are just old stock never sold or used, and they did still have tissue paper around them in the box.

It's really 'grown' on me Toto, I now prefer this rake to the crimson/maroon rake.

A lot of people don't like the BR corporate blue period but I'm finding it really interesting, and it's not as recent as many people tend to think.

    Hi Ed,
I have some blue grey sleepers, all sorts of crimsons and some hornby teaks that I got at a knock down rate. My bargain scout Gary put me onto the teaks. :avatar:
The blue grey did look very professional to me. quite a classy livery.
    cheers

Ed, the Kadees are a great coupler. Are you uncoupling these rakes and/or have you equipped the rest of your stock with them ??

    Cheers, Gary.

    Just this fixed rake Gary.

The end couplings are small T/L with staple attached for magnetic coupling to locos.

Made it easy as I didn't have to worry about the height, although by chance they are the same height as the E-Z mate couplings on the Bachmann track cleaning wagon.

Bit stuck as to what should go in this corner.

I’ve plonked a Metcalfe small factory in as a guide, but basically I’ve got a triangular space about 350mm x 350mm x 500mm, without encroaching on railway territory.

I curved the back scene in the corner and I’m not sure now that I wouldn’t have been better leaving it straight.

I want to show building(s) backing on to the railway (hence the back of the Metcalfe factory), and I could cut it to give a better fit, or I’ve still got unbuilt the Metcalfe brewery some of which could be modified and might fit.

I plan some sort of scenic break on the left at the corner of the recess where the back scene ends, maybe some sort of bridge.

I can’t really continue much further with the catenary, until I’ve decided what goes in here, as it would then be in the way. (The next mast is roughly in the right position and held up with Blutak).

Anybody any ideas before I merrily start carving up Metcalf kits?

    Ed

    G`day Ed,
I think your rounded corner looks good for a start as you cant` tell it`s a corner....
I have found with the Metcalfe kits that the finish and colour makes them not quite fit in aesthetically. They don`t seem to quite fit in with the parked near the railway line look.
Your background buildings are that industrial brown brick look. If your Metcalfe was converted or indeed you built a Scalescenes factory of a similar coloured brick, it would slot in seamlessly and create the illusion of depth with the back scene because the colour makes it all seem logical.....as though it was built at the same time the background buildings were built.
I refer you to Gary`s Industry Lane.....if you plonked a Metcalfe building on there it would look totally out of place, however if it was skinned in the same brick paper as Gary`s factorys, it would look like it was meant to be there.
Anyway mate ......that`s my two bobs worth......hope it helps.:handshake:

I know where your coming from Gormo and I certainly agree about the Metcalfe kits.

Perhaps I’ll cover them with some other brick paper at some point, but it was more the triangular space that had me a bit stumped.

I spent some time yesterday afternoon with some templates and mock-ups and I think I’ve answered
    my own question.

The small factory along with Malt Store from the brewery kit should fit in the space and give a reasonable representation of the back of some sort of factory complex.

For now I’ll call it newly built, to explain the different brickwork :avatar:

Add some form of lean too, to really emphasise the re-development / expasion, maybe even part of it still being built, after all you need an excuse for the additional traffic.

Think I've given up putting any sort of building(s) in the space, somehow the perspective is all

wrong. Might try a road, so I cut some bits of stone sheets to represent cobblestones.

I'll try tarmac next, but I think it looks better than a building plonked in front.

Far too cold Toto, but working on the plank a bit.

    http://p1mrc.com/p1mrc/view_post.php?post_id=21227

However, I have done a bit of planning for later in the year when it warms up a bit.

May I present the new twin track Latton Fields.

Green section is the track to be ordered and installed.

Can't wait to see two AC locos racing around in opposite direction.

Never know, might buy a Pendolino :giggle:
