I at present have 7 0 gauge locos. 6 Dapol, see other section, and this from Heljan. Ran perfectly straight from the box and handles 2nd rad easily. It weighs a ton, almost did my back in lifting from the box.
Very nice. I was tempted to get one of these myself when it came out but abstained for now. They are very tempting. Toto
It’s an ugly looking beast. It’s like someone thought it was a great idea to put a greenhouse on the back of the engine for the driver to sit in. wonder if they grew good tomatoes in them? I was lucky to win one on here last year in OO and it’s an excellent little runner and fits in really well on my layout.
Here’s a nice example with just a small amount of dirt to give a nice weathered / nearly clean condition. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Rail_Class_05#/media/File:Hugh_llewelyn_D2587_(7124609553).jpg
That looks to be Barrow Hill engine shed just down the road from me. They had a few 05's allocated there for a short while in the 60's. The one in the photo was photographed in 2012 at one of their open days so is in a preserved livery, however, it looks to have been weathered . Probably it gets lots of use so it's likely to be in it's working clothes. I have a list of the 05's at Barrow Hill and will be giving mine one of those as its identity. Cheers, Pete.
Does the picnic table go inside the green house, or just carried around for the obligatory tea breaks. Mind you it would make socially distancing a doddle, just hand the meals / beers in through the windows Paul
Yes, I normally do, then if you make a mistake with the weathering it can be cleaned off whilst the varnish will protect the original finish. I normally use acrylics as it’s easier to wash off. Kim
