Greetings from Sheffield! Age 50, I work at Sheffield station within customer service, working on the platforms, providing information on tickets and connecting trains as well as other general information. Also, in the 1st class lounge, meeting and greeting business travellers, offering complementary drinks and light snacks. I own a large model railway that takes up a complete room. My main areas of interest are the BR blue era. However I also have a collection of prototype diesels. Most years the layout is used to raise money for local charities by running a timetable over 24 hours. The main aim of having fun together. This year we raised about £250 for Sheffield Children’s Hospital. Music is an important part of my life, although I cant claim to be a musician I have collected a selection of electronic instruments including synthesizers, samplers and groove boxes! Meeting friends and days out are something I do when we can all get our busy lives together on the same day. Many such meets for one reason or another seam to concluded Sheffield’s many Real ale pubs! If this looks familiar, please accept my apologies in advance. It is my standard greeting for FB friend requests. It seamed pointless re inventing the wheel so Copy and Paste came to my aid! Shaun.

Welcome to the forum Shaun. Sounds like you are a busy man. One of my layouts will be running BR blue / green so I'll be interested to see what you are doing there. Nice to hear of some successful charity work. Especially for the kids. To be commended indeed. Get yourself bedded in and find your way around. Once you get the hang of the place, come back and give us some more info on your layout and by all means ...... Post up some photo's. I'll look forward to catching up again when you are ready. Cheers Toto
