Does anyone know why Acme would describe one of their kits as a "brute" to build? Is it because the loco builds into something looking like a brute or is this another one of those near "unbuildable" ones. I'd be interested to know peoples thoughts and I'm not about to buy one (just yet) http://www.acmemodels.co.uk/OGCatFlyP.htm
I doubt it is unbuildable York Paul. I think the valve and rodding arrangement looks like a challenge but I don't think they would bring their own model down by suggesting that its unbuildable. They do say its not for the beginner but ....... a man of your calibre ...... C'mon ..... you know you want it. Ellis Clark has an ACME BR standard 2 Ivatt on their site at the moment going with wheels, gearbox and motor ....... worth a look .....
yes ..... too good to let go. After seeing the Black five kit ....... they do look good including the various cast parts. very neat. It comes with whells and motor / gearbox and offers a terrific saving on new. cheers toto
Arrived yesterday with the Duchess from Ellis Clark. Very nice although I only had time for a very brief look. Pictures will follow on my return from Cyprus. Cheers Toto
Sorry Toto I missed this post... yes I wondered if you had bought it, nice kit but my radar is set on an Ivatt 2-6-2, an Ivatt 3MT Flying Pig and my next build Owen Glendower then CofSoT which has been ordered.
