Well actaully I was thinking of the river Windrush that runs through Bourton on the Water in the Cotswolds when I suggested it earlier. I had no idea of the other association with the name. I visited Bourton on the Water many years ago....what a beautiful little village. Gormo
Hi Gormo, unfortunately some names get tainted by scandulous activities, afterall I believe that Windrush was the name of the ship involved, you were not to know, but besides, Ron has a link with that name through his wife. It's a bit like Dutch Elm disease that killed many trees in the UK some years ago, it was the Dutch that identified the disease and were not the cause of it. That's life Jim
No harm in calling it Windrush. Any name can be tainted nowadays, the media can always dig something up. Bourton on the Water was a lovely village but is far to busy now with thousands of tourists. There are several villages nearby just as nice but as yet undiscovered.
If the name Windrush has some other connotation, change it to 'Windrush Road', or perhaps Yardrush Road'. Both names are in keeping with the original name of the layout. Cheers, Gary.
