Here we go ........ Another lesson on how it should be done. We're sitting comfortable Ron. Beer and crisps at the ready.
Damn beer - on the must get list may as well get chrisps as well No pressure Ron, but were all waiting Paul
Not much shed work this weekend as my daughter and grown up grand daughters are down for the Christmas visit. Trouble is now they're grown up they will want to go out Saturday night as well!!Oh well there is the long Christmas break to look forward too!! CheersRon
Decided after a lot of thinking that I will amalgamate Weybourne and Sheringham and call the layout 'Sheringbourne' what do you think??
It will be a shame to lose Weybourne but it does have a nice ring to it Sheringbourne. Difficult one. Toto
So will you be running from fiddle yard to Sherringbourne to fiddle yard, or will it be end to end. You could always have a branch to a location above or in front of the fiddle yard Paul

Hmmm, do you have a track plan of the proposed new layout ? A few questions... Will Weybourne still be as Weybourne currently, or will it be pulled up to make way for a new design ? Will Sheringham be a seperate station (destination) or will both be combined to make one larger terminus or through station ?? Cheers, Gary.
Sounds better than Weyham or Sheriwey????? Well Ron......new challenges by the sound of it and a new incarnation of your railway......sounds good http://www.clickGormo
I think it may be Weybourne but with some track alterations to make it into a small terminus as per the real Sheringham. I will check it out on Anyrail when I can but I have an extra 2' of station length to plan for! Will keep you yupdated whilst finishing the shed!!
Of course the diadvantage of a terminus is its harder to sit back and just watch the trains go by Paul
That`s why you have a through station with a terminus platform attached, then you can have the best of both worlds.... http://www.clickGormo
Agreed gents but as this shed is also to be a workshop I have agreed with SWMBO to run an L shaped layout around one side and the back and keep the front/other side as a workshop and tool store!I have had a year of watching trains go by so I'm gonna settle down to a terminus and concerntrate on the details. CheersRon
paul_l wrote: But the real advantage of a terminus layout is running the trains like they run in the real world ! Ron, I like your idea. Now that you are permanently settled in, with a new train shed (tool shed !), you can build the terminus layout and detail the layout to your hearts content. Cheers, Gary.
First Sheringbourne plan, level crossing is kept close except for visiting loco's etc. Attached files
Most of it Tom, a bit of 'tweaking' here and there and planning either side of station to do. A new roadbridge over the points is the biggest challenge I think!
I'm sure you shall conqeour somehow. Do you have any form of heating in the new shed as we're heading headlong into winter again. Either that or if you can take sections inside to work on. Toto
