10/10 to Ian - you've guessed why every thing is widely spaced out.

PP3 battery clip picked up from Maplins, and new clip fitted and were up and running. Should be good for another 20 years.

No shorts on the board - time to load the first draft of the sketch.

    A little more work done

The home position detector and bracket fitted, a little flex, so a top stiffener printed up and glued in place with PVA (it can be levered off if needed).

and a little playing with stock - need to determine how much stock is usable, and how many duplicates

The front 5 are duplicates so will need to be doctored before weathering.

Euston we have a problem ........

NUTS - the motor shaft on the stepper motor is not long enough for the grub screws to tighten on to the motor shaft

Off to the tinternet to find a solution

On the bright side the stepper motor turns

Shaft size is set by a standard - so having to print a modified bracket

We (by that I mean the printer) will prevail - I seem to remember this was a long print.

    Oh well

Connected up my standard Big Easy Driver / Arduino board - same as used on Viccy Road.

With Viccy Roads Sketch uploaded and a few changes to the distance to be moved, and it works.

I still have the homing routines to add, then adjust the final positions, and there is a bit of backlash issue to sort out, which effects the accuracy and a binding issue as it moves out to track 4.

Currently using Full Steps but may try half stepping (this will give an increase in torque), plus some tweaking of the current limiting potentiometer on the Big Easy Driver board may also help.

However it runs really smoothly and quieter than the Viccy Road Traverser.

Hopefully I will get a video posted tomorrow.
