That's got to be damn frustrating... I think that dancing witch may have something to do with it... Cheers, Gary.
Totos traverser board may be required as a back up for the show with the correct script downloaded would it work in place of your one Paul ?? This is what scares me when using all the electrickery and going to a show. If it fails the layouts show stops. I was considering for Newcastle full block occupancy detectors with scripted auto train shuttles etc for platforms 3/4 local shuttles, so at exhibitions you only need one operator for the main line platforms 1/2. But keep wondering how well it will go on a portable layout that has variables that can't be controlled
Seemed to be fine until you brought the new points control in Paul. Indoubt whether that has any bearing on it but it's the only real change to the whole setup. I take it that it's an intermittent fault leaving the arduino as you had an acceptable reading going in. It was when you tested it coming out that the reading failed. Couldn't be a break in a cable ? Maybe making and breaking with the result that the signal breaks down ? The big question is do you spend the time tracing the fault or switch to plan B. Erm ....... What's plan B again.
It can be done but doesn't look good when you have an audience. May not have a choice though. Must admit it has been bomb proof in the past so I get the feeling it's something that's just been thrown out. It really worked a dream.
Last night I created another version of the panel and deleted the traverser routes, but left the points routes in. Seems to be working ok - its been running all evening, even with the PC operating the point routes. Chris Tom's is a different program, however the intention is to build another board, in time for thew weekend, after all there is 3 days to go before it needs to be dismantled Paul
I'm confident that it will be fine. maybe just the stronger motor and the additional bearings as you suggested. thing of beauty I tell you ....... don't dare get it scratched .
Ran reliably again this evening, so the stock has been packed up. More passengers stuck down on the platforms. And start dismantling the electrics ....... no rest for the wicked Paul
My fingers are crossed for you Paul that nothing goes haywire with the traverser. The layout looks good to go, although I think the new Dapol signal gantry could do with a lick of paint. Cheers, Gary.
Good luck lads, lots of details for visitors to enjoy. Fingers crossed all go's well and no hiccups. Hope you get the chance to take some photos, see if you can get some help from the organisers to operate while you have breaks. Cheer's, Pete.
Good luck guys, hope all goes well on the weekend. Hopefully meeting up with Pete and Ron at Peterborough this weekend, so this'll be the UK Mods 'day out' after the Aussie's have had theirs! Keith.
