Thanks guys, both fine, though I was amazed to find I had a touch of shock (shaking, wobbles etc) after persuing the perps to a layby. Seen it in many victims whilst in the job, but at 66 and having survived fire at sea did not expect it personally. Italian police useless, but got signed admission of fault from 3rd party. New mirror will arrive Wednesday, delaying arrival in Venice, marvelous pitch for bird watching, right on lake front, grebes displaying, coots fighting, a pair of swans nesting all within 20 M of van windows. Seen full Great Crested Grebe displays 3 metres from van, only ever seen on TV wild life before. Never been stuck in a camp site before waiting repairs, but hey ho, a real man should try everything once, apart from Morris Dancing and incest.... Ciaou, Doug
Good to hear you are both ok and making the most of the situation. At least your birding is working out for you. Enjoy. toto
You got a Reliant Doug is that a Robin or a Regal and where's campsite wifi? Seriously ... I hope everything works out and you have a great holiday. Ian
Well we got repaired, visited Venice (shocking rising damp), Verona (Juliet's Balcony etc), Vrsakr on Croation coast where we paddled in the Adriatic in T shirts, ate spit roast pig, Ljubliana in Slovenia where plunging temperatures forced us off a site with unheated facilities, arrived in Bled (NE Slovenia ) day one a local railtrip, went to sleep and woke up to 3" of snow, partial thaw the next day which had our steadies sinking into the earth, so dug out the car, moved to firmer ground and watched more snow arrive. Thawing now (Thursday) plan to move on to Austria Saturday where the weather looks to be better for beer and sausages. Poop-poop Doug
If it was Snow & Rain you were after, you could have come to Scotland, we have those conditions all year round. Glad to see the trip is getting back on track. Enjoy Paul
Now there is a holiday to remember though some of it I imagine you would rather forget! in a few years you will talk about it and laugh, enjoy the rest of your trip mate, and don,t forget! lots of photo,s . Cheers, Pete.
