G'day Davoetype, Welcome aboard from Sydney. You'll find a great bunch of members on here with one common goal, maybe two or three ! Well, the first is building a quality layout ! Take a good look around and when ready, come and introduce your self to the masses. The 'e type' in your name is interesting..? Any story behind that or are you a Jaguar fan ?? Enjoy the forum, the fun, the banter and the goat...! Cheers, Gary.
Hi Davoetype from a very warm Spain relax browse and find your way around, if you any questions fire away. Ian
Thanks for the welcome fellow train victims. I am off to Cairns tomorrow morning so this is just a quick response to show I am still alive. When I figure out how to post pictures of my layout I will include them in a resume of what and where it is and just why my grey hair has gotten a little greyer since the decision was taken to convert everything to DCC including my earlier brass locos. The layout is MK4 and located in my men's shed which also houses my other toys. Regards for now Richard
Hi Richard, Thanks for the intro. Sounds interesting " the rest of your toys " There are some instruction on the form on how to use the gallery to upload pictures. Have a quick read and if you are still having trouble, shout out and the Calvary will be dispatched I'll look forward to seeing your pictures . Enjoy Cairns. Toto

Enjoy your trip to Cairns Again a big Platform1
Thanks good people. Back from Cairns and now that all the chores are up to date..well getting there anyway...it is time to tidy up my cave and figure out how to post pictures, etc. and tell you all about my toys and all the associated issues of DCC. But that is for my introduction. Meant to let you know that I got my introduction from your display at the Epping show, along with a few other additions to the collection (Austrains 4407 plus another goods shed) Cheers for now.
G'day Richard, I trust that you enjoyed Cairns. Glad to see you sign up with the encouragement we must have given you at Epping. It was a good show this year. To help you sort out posting pics, there is a 'how to' on posting photos in the Commonly Asked Questions section just under the Scalescenes Competition No.1 icon at the top of the page on the left hand side. Here you can read up on posting pics and linking you tube clips to your posts. Cheers, Gary.
Thanks Gary Thanks for the info. Have just about made my cave presentable and should get my photos sorted out this week. Amazing how many things I have found including two packets of long lost black scale chain to hold down a pipe load on a couple of my TE flats. Cheers, Richard
I do the same, that is finding things when I clean up. Generally, I have bought a second item before I find the original ! Cheers, Gary.
Unfortunately my shed was hit with some storm damage just as I was getting a more detailed introduction. Davoetype is my handle from my car club, an amalgam of your nickname and whatever car you drive. Easy to remember so I use it for all my clubs. My toy shed houses the railway, etype and wood turning equipment. Left the front door open and the wind knocked two fuel drums from the shelving over the layout straight onto the layout. Not a pretty sight. The damage has finally been restored and I now have an operational layout again. The saga did however cause me to rethink the layout. So now a fairly large project has been commenced. The layout has been named "Evolution" and I will be the subject of a members layout post. Fuel drums are no longer stored over the layout.
That really would have set my then frayed nerves on fire so at least there was a measure of luck. Still have not forgiven myself for leaving the door to my prized possessions open during the storm.
