Hi there Chaps and a big thank you to all for the warm welcome, I've just noticed this welcome post so sorry about the late reply. I have recently returned to scratch building model railways after a gap of over 25 years so i've a lot of catching up to do, 7mm is the scale for me to work in... mainly because of fat fingers and eye sight makes OO hard for me now. I really enjoyed reading Kimbo's Hymek conversion thread and was wondering how it was progressing since I have one on my workbench too, right now I am focusing on building up the bogies. Other builds are mainly Parkside and Slaters wagon kits that consist of 16ton minerals and box vans from the 1960's BR era... I have a few pictures I can put up if I can get the file size down a bit. Also the last loco I built recently was a Jim McGowen kit of an LNER F5 radial tank, its numbered as 67201 in early BR livery. Anyway that's a bit about me and thanks again for letting me be in the group. Is Line Clear refers to my interest in Britsih mechanical railway signalling priciples but my name is Paul and I live in Yorkshire.
Paul great intro You will fit right in I've start the conversion (just like Cyber men in Dr Who) of all to 7mm, you can help stir the pot Start a topic on your models, Toto will be eager to see you Loco build he's about to tackle some more of Jims great kits Try uploading your photos to the photo gallery the insert into your post if using a pc it easy if using a iPad just up use the choose file at the bottom of the post for a single photo. Great to have you Aboard.
Hi Paul, Great to have you on board and an other o gauge modeller to boot 👍🏻 Hymek are still awaiting their turn on the bench, I have an awful lot of work to do on the layout which is taking up most of my modelling time, but they will return to the forum soon. look forward to seeing your loco build pictures. Kim
Hi Paul, nice to hear from you, its always good to have another O scale modeller on here. The F5 tank, is that the one nicknamed "Chrystal Palace tank?" nice engines though the cab always, to me anyway, looked too big for the engine. Still be great to see some photos though. Big Jims kits are a delight to build, I started with a J39, then a J65, they are almost a "shake the box" kit they are so well designed. But like a fool I sold mine years ago, I've regretted it ever since . Cheer's, Pete.
Hi is line clear (aka Paul) and from sunny Spain thanks for the interesting intro now grab a brew relax and enjoy your forum. Ian vt
Hi Chris and thanks for that, I'll put up some pics, I have a small diorama layout upstairs in the dormer room, it is only 10 long at the mo but I have built the frame on castors so it is portable... the cunning plan is to add more segments that lock together and that way I can extend the layout through the doors across the landing and into the next room. the trick here was to get the missus interested in making scenery The points are powered by Cobalt IP Analogue motors and the signals are MSE kits of LMS upper quads (when I get round to making them up). Anyway cheers for now and thanks again.Paul
Hi Keith and thanksbtw do you know Andy Sollis ... he comes from Mansfield and has just started a range of computer printed signalling kits called Northern Bridge 3D Models? cheers Paul

Kimbo wrote: You know Kimbo, it was your Hymek build thread that inspired me to get one of those BB Hymeks from ebay... a steal at £16, so thanks for kick starting me into diesels I'll start a build thread soon, cheers for now Paul

jakesdad13 wrote: Hi jakesdad, the F5's were a derivative from te Worsdell F4 and got nicknamed Gobblers because of the excessive coa consumption, I think the Palace tanks were the late F6 with Ramsbottom safety valves and the taller cabs sporting larger windows. The reason I went for the F5 was simply because I liked the kit having spoken to Jim M at the York model show... I promised myself one of his 4F'kits at a later stage... they really are nice to build. cheers for now Paul
