I have been rather busy with real world issues for the last few of months which has been getting in the way of railway modelling, where I left off was in trying to convert Dublo/Wrenn Class 20 locos for DCC running and I ran into a problem.

Both of my locos have poor wheel plating making one erratic for power pickup and the other hopeless, I believe that with good wheels they would be ok without a full blown stay alive decoder arrangement.

I gather...

This is a teeny weeny motor and gearbox. Aimed I think at the OO scale models .... but this one has a 3 / 16 axle bearing so suitable for small O Gauge locks. The gearbox is a 38:1 ratio.

I have just taken delivery of two from slaters. These will be used on my Ramsbottom 0-4-0 four foot shunter and my Ramsbottom 0-4-2 crane shunter. Both Gladiator kits.

Pictures will be posted later along side a normally used Mashima 1833 motor to give a sense of scale.

Cheers for now

I have around 20 Lima 00 diesels which would seem to be candidates for sale unless I can get their motors changed as I am going DCC and Sound.

Unfortunately I am at the age where I do not have nimble enough fingers or good enough eyesight to do this myself.

So I am looking for experiences/ recommendations on who is out there and can do this work?

I would prefer to go to someone who can do the motors and install chips so that when I get a loco back that doesn't work I am not...
I cut a ring into the insulation with a Stanley blade and it literally separated with ease, no need I'd say for wire trimmers and setting the depth of cut.
