I was hoping I my find a post here on it.. but it seems to have eluded me? so, any suggestions? I’m looking for something 1970’s style that would cover half a coach.
You can use cotton as ropes and tissue paper as the tarpaulin. Glue the tissue paper onto the model using PVA and once cured, dry brush with appropriate colour. If you wanted a black plastic tarpaulin, use a piece of black bin liner as I have done here : https://platform1mrc.com/p1mrc/inde...y-diorama-competition-thread.5854/#post-95421 Gormo also has a thread on making tarpaulins for open wagons. You can find that thread here : https://platform1mrc.com/p1mrc/inde...y-diorama-competition-thread.5854/#post-95421 Cheers, Gary.
G`day Andy & Gary, The link to my method Andy, should be Episode 83 17 Tarpaulins I have also heard of people using Baby Wipes for O Gauge wagons.......they seem a bit heavy to me but who knows, maybe it works. Gormo
Ha! Plenty of them in our house at the moment.... sadly still wet and many have a pattern on them in the UK.. however, it’s a dam good shout. Closest may be some of the wet tissues for glasses cleaning (I had previously looked as some for an O gauge canvas guards van roof, but never progressed.) it’s for an OO ration grounded coach body.. usually sits back of my engine shed. I was thinking of covering half over and then something on it like it’s been saved for the nearby railway society! Keep you posted!
