Very impressive work, great job on the curves, not too jagged, green suits it. Just some People Level crossing Barriers need fitting to protect those two gates!
Kim, Thanks (again) for your help yesterday, Glad it was Best Cuppa. Hope that, saved, dried, and re-used tea bag tastes as good next week RALPH
Hi Bob, seeing as you have villaboard would you advise me as to a track adhesive to villaboard if that's the way you fastened your track down, as I'm trying to avoid using screws or nails if possible (don't think villaboard will be screw or nail friendly) RALPH
Hi Ralph, I now use small screws. The Villaboard is drilled for each screw. I used exterior Aquadhere originally but that proved to be a pain when I had to lift track later. Silastic also worked but I used it where I ballasted on the original configuration. cheers Bob
Would a product like Copydex thats available in the uk be any good? It is a rubber/silicon type adhesive that doesn't set completely so if the trackwork needs to be moved at any time its easily lifted by sliding a paint scraper type tool under. The only possible down side is that it dries white if I remember correctly but I imagine that could be overcome. Pete.
I certainly can't answer that. I have not seen Copydex over here since I was a kid. I also think it would be rather expensive if only available in those small bottles. I think clear silicone glues like Silastic supplied in caulking tubes would be cheaper. Silastic lifts up with a scraper. cheers Bob
Send some rain to the east coast please ! Now the real fun begins. Looking forward to this stage. Cheers, Gary.
Me too Gary !!! So whilst we were drinking tea today, Ralph decided extra track was required for a station area with two passing loops.....yay ! Just another 15m of track to add to the “to do” list
Looking good Ralph going to look impressive with big long trains passing through the junction, Kim it’s main line in the Garden you must have as much track as possible Now if you hadn’t stopped for the tea break
Gary, wish I could send rain over, I know you, as well as Eastern states would IT. Kim, thanks for drinking my Tea, I must have been thinking out loud regarding extra track didn't mean to make you Faint. Ralph Forgot!!!! thanks for today
Chris, thanks for your comments, we being Kim and myself also think a long train will look good, Ralph
Today’s efforts before the weather sets in....managed to get 5 tracks wired and glued down to the junction which was glued and wired a couple of weeks ago. Ralph.
Bit more progress today. Looking up the incline at the start of the passing loops.. Where the track crosses the gate section we are fitting copper clad sheets to which the track will be soldered to and then cut across the junction plus a cut down the middle to isolate the two rails from each other Ralph
