Hi I like TT and have acquired some rolling stock, I can scratchbuold loco bodies ( I like diesels) and buildings but not track. So I had the idea to run it on N gauge 9mm track, making it roughly metre gauge for TT and using N gauge chassis. So what is this called TTn, TTm TT9 etc, does anybody know please? Mike
Hi Mike I would take a guess at TTn9, if it followed other scales / gauges, but you never know. Have you tried the 3mm society http://www.3smr.co.uk/ Track work isn't as frightening as it seems, and if you get a set of gauges, some copper clad and some rail (could liberate the rail from some N gauge flex) it would be worth a go, if you can make a chassis you have all the skills and some to fly track building. Paul
Hi Mike, Glad to see you've got the hang of posting. I hope my PM helped. It will take a couple of attempts. I've deleted the duplicate post for you ........ You are on your way now. Any further questions, just post them up and someone will be more than happy to help. Welcome to the forum. Cheers Toto
Hi Thanks, I may have given the wrong impression, I can build bodies but not chassis, I'm going to use a couple of N gauge ones.
We'll look forward to seeing the results. ....... That's the next step ........ Posting photo's. I'll wait until you are used to standard posts first.
Well, looks like you have a new challenge then Seriously, with only a couple of gauges you can build track work. I had a go at O gauge track http://p1mrc.com/p1mrc/view_topic.php?id=625&forum_id=13&page=2 Post 22 onwards and if I can do it .......... Paul
It will be a while we are working flat out on our ambitious three level exhibition layout for the next couple of months , it has to be ready for the Bluebell Railway show in June.
I think points would be a bit tricky. As it is I have a box of N gauge track and I like to do things on a budget so will use what I have. But someday I will have a go at track.
It would be good if you started a layout thread for it, and keep us posted - I'm sure we have said somewhere were nosey that way Paul
Looking at the NMRA site , they have TTn42 which I guess means 42" and TTn3 and again a guess as 3ft.
