What is a Water Gin i hear you say, basicly a tank on a flat car that supplies extra water for the steam loco, as in NSW we had a lot of distance between main stations and in many areas water was not as plentiful, so Auxiliary water tanks were used to supplement the locos tender or tanks capacity these were known as Gins. The model represents one of 2 special conversions of a Water Gin with a separate pump house at one end so Water could be pumped to the locos tender even if the loco was double heading as several of our NSWR locos were plumbed with piping for this pourpose of through water supply. Coded SWT-5 & SWT-6. "Steam Water Tank" The kit produced By GME consists of laser cut wood and Acrylic parts plus laser cut Bogie frames and a selection of detail parts However it was noted that several parts were not in the kit when I picked it up at the 2017 Liverpool Show This is one of the prototype vehicles. The laser cut parts all have tabs that align the parts and the tank is a vacuum formed styrene one piece. As the model looked easy to construct I started on it after dinner time and have made some good progress Attached files
Fast set PVA has been used so far with good results This is the pump house area The roof for this part is one of the missing parts of the kit Attached files
The kit is supplied with laser cut Bogie frames that haves overlays that provides all the Bogie detail it also came with plastic wheel I have replaced these with metal wheel sets The detail overlay is another of the parts that will be sent asap Attached files
The under side of the SWT5 has a storage box located under the frames, this seemed to only be represented by a piece of wood in the kit so I got to making a spot for this and adding some bracing on the under side to have the box mounted too. Attached files
The kit is supplied with sprung brass Buffers and Kadee couplers as well These added have been added. Attached files
As it was getting quit late or early in the morning this is it for now coupled in its position behind 3801's tender. Attached files
A great kit Chris. I'll look forward to it hitting the paint shop. ..... And some weathering of course.

Hi Kim when I get the remaining bits it will be painted black with white decals and the NSWGR script It had its first run today behind my 38class that had its second track test a couple of hours running and the 38 and Gin ran great. Link to YouTube https://youtu.be/-Lb0psF-HaE
