Went into our local Toolzone (that's the make on the packet anyway) and found a very nice Butane Pencil Torch. It's a mini blowtorch which runs on lighter fuel. It was £4.99. Could be useful for small jobs and adding extra heat when you may need it. At less than a Fiver it can't be all bad.
Just the kind of thing I was referring to , waft the flame up and down where the bend or curve is needed when the metal is discoloured dunk it in t,watter, ferrous metal hardens but non ferrous softens don,t know why it just doe,s . Pete.
Be very careful with these, the one I bought blew up in my hand and I only just missed being badly burnt!!

So if you want to bend steel easier heat it up but let it cool naturally, non ferrous can be dunked or left to cool.
