Congrats Toto, I saw a bid was placed for the start amount and guessed it was you. I had played with the idea of bidding on the J17 but she didn't go for £140 so I withdrew the offer and it is still for sale, quite frankly if I really wanted one I'd put the extra £30 and buy brand new from WA. One thing I did notice I wonder if your A1 comes with both sets of nameplates because the A2 had an exact one same etch included in that deal... just a thought.
I'll let you know when it's delivered York Paul. Estimated as a Friday delivery. And that's " express " delivery. Not that it matters. Looked good Toto
I had a brief look at it a couple of days ago. What livery do you plan for it? - They were made too late for your preferred Wartime black. Very much dependant on which loco you choose you could have Apple Green with British Railways on the tender, BR Blue or BR Green. If you let me have the loco number and when you plan to model it I can be more specific - I have the relevant copy of Yeadon for the Peppercorn A1's
Hi Rob, Probably BR green late crest. As it happens ...... It arrived today ....... Pictures to follow later. Toto
Haven't posted the pics yet. The camera is on charge so I'll get them up later today. I have a few sale items that I need to photograph in order to list on the forum. Cheers Toto
and the photo's ...... Destructions and an A3 sheet with as drawing of the loco and tender ..... bags of castings etc ....... Pre-rolled boiler and fire box .......... a selection of name plates ....... the riveted tender etchings and others ..... Chassis etchings Body etchings ........ and that concludes the parts. Phew ......... cheers toto
You may find this site handy as a place to start for information of the loco you want https://www.a1steam.com/category/original-a1s/ Paul
Blue Peter and Velocity were Peppercorn A2's not A1's so don't use those nameplates on this one.... The others are indeed A1's
Thanks for that. I did not fancy velocity anyway and Blue Peter is a bit naff. That thins it down a bit unless I get another made up. toto
It may be naff name wise but it's preserved allowing allsorts of possibilities in terms of being in out of the way places. - But it's not an A1.....
The name conjours up mental images of John Noakes ......... get down shep. please ........ no more. Gimme Molly Weir's tea time tales, crossroads ....... anything. cheers toto
So we can take it that this engine isn't going to be built using a roll of sticky back plastic nor are we going to see one that was made earlier ... sorry Toto I just couldn't resist saying that. Great loco kit by the way.
Another site you may find useful http://www.brdatabase.info/index.php Enter the loco name or number into the quick search box on the left hand side and you will get the loco(s) that carried that name or number, select the correct one and you will get the data / allocations of your loco. Paul
