So here we go, a Hornby 20ton brake van and a bit of cutting with my mini drill and cutting disc.

Redundant domestic bath re-used as a farm animal drinking trough? Not uncommon from 'thrifty' farmers!:giggle:

Just like me Andrew. Slow and steady as she goes. I go out to the shed walk past the scene, sometimes something happens and sometimes it doesn't. It's looking good so far, and love the idea with the tablet packaging.

So, over the last few days i've added basic flock for a base, made a country lane using filler added some long static grass and had a go at making some drystone walls. The lane has some fine sand applied and sprayed with an Earth colour.
The walls are lenghts of plasticard covered with instant grab adhesive from the DIY store and some 4mm scale ballast that is way too big for ballast. The ballast is pressed into the adhesive and looks quite good, when dry I will fill in the gaps.

I need to actually do some work on the van body but I wanted to get the scene progressed.

Thanks, just need tidying up when the glue sets.

The ballast I bought ages ago and can't use it, I would say the ballast chips are a scale 1 foot so they are more like boulders.

Progressed a little bit more today. Tidyed up the drystone wall and added some more bushes and static grass. 20220329_203600 (1).jpg
Put a floor in the van and corrigated iron sheets over the windows.

Perimeter fencing made with matchsticks and plasticard iron sheets. 20220331_134726.jpg
Another layer of static grass on the embankments and some pastel scrappings for flowers. The tarp on top of the van is a Creme egg wrapper.

    Overall view so far.
