I'm really getting into this kit building, and this is my latest buy. Another one from Ebay, £39 this time.

It's complete with chassis, driving and front bogie wheels (although connecting rods appear to need either repair or replacement), and will need motor/gearbox and tender wheels. I seem to recall that "High Level Kits" do chassis kits and/or various parts for many of the South Eastern Finecast kits so I have the choice, though doubtless there are other suppliers who market suitable parts. I already have 3 Hornby "Schools" class loco's, but I do like these 4-4-0's, and this is the first SEF kit I've had. There certainly seems to be plenty of instructions, almost 'Instructional overload' in fact, but better too much than not enough, and it'll join the lengthening queue of kits I'm collecting to make sure I have enough to keep me busy through this coming winter.:giggle:

If you Google Sefinecast website you can get their email address and contact them and they have a spare parts division. Might be handy. Their kits normally got together well but need a bit of work.

There is a parts list and 'exploded' numbered diagram amongst the copious instructions together with S.E. Finecasts home and email addresses 'Bittern', so I'll be getting in touch with them at some stage although no immediate hurry as I have a few other kits in the queue to build before this one. I've found it usually pays to spend time going through kits and instructions well before starting them, as then you have an idea of the extra bits and bobs you need to source (not necessarily from the kit supplier) so as to avoid delay whilst waiting for parts during construction. There's nothing more frustrating than having to put a build 'on hold' while parts arrive, and lets face it, some parts suppliers are quicker with delivery than others (naming no names!):giggle:
