Just ordered this from Pat Ennis at Scorpio Models, the loco kit has been totally reworked from its original format and will hopefully be something different to make, I've asked for a BR1C tender and have a 26:1 ratio helical gearbox with five pole Cannon motor ordered from ABC. Spoke to Brian at ABC today and he is still waiting for certain components... hopefully arriving soon and the loco will be sent out next week so pictures on arrival.

Don't rush to get a seat Dundee... I've got a second VML2 26:1 ratio helical gearbox on order destined to go in the Standard Class 4, so both gear combos will arrive together which means 75030 gets finished first.

ooh nice one Kimbo... may I ask what you have ordered from Pat ... without being rude of course? Pat was promoting the new reworked GWR Star kit which will build all three versions... have to admit I was impressed and may well buy.

I’ll post up my “black one” when they confirm the etches are finished and on their way.

I'll get some pics up when the kit lands... Pat says he'll post out hopefully next week and its anybodies guess when the gearbox motor combo will arrive but at least I ordered wheelsets this time. Probably make a start on the tender first since there is nothing to hold me back on that part of the build.

Sounds a good plan to start on the tender. I imagine it's pretty much the same as the ones you have built before.

Yes most likely the same but with differing tank side wraps needing a tad more rivet embossing, I'll put hornblocks onto the centre wheels as with all others too. I'm thinking of doing a last survivor such as one of Patricroft's final allocation with BR1C 9 ton coal capacity tender... either 138, 142 or 143... not sure which yet but it will be finished in very grimy condition.

Seems like kit and ancillary supplies are slowing down again due to the 'lockdown', and I see that Jim McGeown has again ceased taking orders for kits until March of next year. Glad I decided to get a December reservation in for one of his LSWR brake vans, with luck that should keep me occupied for a few weeks as we in Derbyshire will be emerging from lockdown back into 'tier 3' so that'll mean more of the same I suppose, a case of 'keep your head down and keep modelling!':giggle:

Yes it seems that way Keith and to quote Brian Clapperton "nobody is making anything currently" so I too am waiting for gearbox units and my kit builds are at a stand. Anyway news on the rebuilt Merchant Navy remodeling release has been put back to Easter 2021, so that's something to look forward to.

I trust he means suppliers rather than modellers as the latter are doing nothing but making things where they can get what they need...

I don't know if it's a good thing I have a backlog of kits to be built :avatar:, Toto has several years worth of lock down kits to keep him going, just a pity he's up to his neck with work at the mo

Ladybower looking to Derwent. The bridge gives it away that was built over the little village of ashopton.

there were only some little 0-4-0 locos worked here though...
