Work has continued to lay the track for the branch terminus. I have also started the process of converting a design for a scratch built signal box from 00 gauge to N gauge and I show the build of a key part of the design I have had to adapt in reducing the size of the build. I also talk about a new gimbal that will allow me to fix a mic on to help in filming the videos.

Now that I have stopped throwing my tools around and damaging the track, progress in building the branch terminus and goods yard has been swifter. Track in now laid, with, eventually, point motors in and working after my first dalliance with DCC control of point motors. I show the value of a set of vernier callipers in measuring for scratch building in n scale, and my train cam lives again.

In this video I complete the installation of the buildings for the branch terminus. You get a front row seat at the train cam takes a trip up the branch and into the train shed at High Elven. The signal box I am scratch buildings from an adapted OO scale design, begins to take shape.

In this video I complete the scratch build of a signal box in N scale having scaled down a design from OO scale plans. A rake of newly issued Thompson Teak Coaches joins the fleet at Elvenhome. I am also starting in this video a new series in which I talk about two N gauge layouts that I follow on YouTube.

In this video I concentrate on the building of a low relief terrace house kit from Petite Properties. Together with three other kits the terrace houses will form part of Station Road at the branch terminus of High Elven. I also take a look at how I am going to expand my use of the Woodland Scenics Just Plug system. Finally I showcase two more N Gauge layouts to which I am subscribed.

I have been starting the work of constructing Station Road which will run along the branch terminus station at High Elven. I also show the router attachment that I recently used with the Dremel to cut the groove into which the inspection pit was set for the Engine Shed at High Elven. Finally I showcase two other N Gauge layouts that I follow which I think you will enjoy watching.

I have been able to complete the work to create Station Road at High Elven the branch terminus. That has included using some low relief shops from IN the Greenwood Laser. I have also finally decided to bite the bullet and replace a building which has been bugging me for a while. I show me building its successor ahead of the wrecking ball moving in. I also showcase two other N gauge channels on YouTube to which I think it is worth subscribing.

This posting is two weeks late and I appear not have posted it when it was released. So you get two for the price of one. This video concentrates on the completion of the work to build and paint the new church and install it on the layout.

In my latest video I respond to those who replied to my last video by saying I should have a go at making a skittle alley for the pub in N scale. I will learn not to scoff publicly at ideas from my wife. There are two more channels with N gauge layouts to look at in Two to Watch. I also talk through the plans for the scratch build of the pub into which the skittle alley will be placed. Oh yes and there are trains running.

With the skittle alley built, I turn my attention to starting work on building the pub and talk through the work done so far. Two more channels in Two to Watch

It was time to build the external walls for the pub and to begin to decorate the interior. A rake of Stannier Coaches arrived this week to run behind Royal Scot and you get to see them running (including from track cam). Two more channels get showcased in Two to Watch. Finally I have started the long put off work to complete the scenic work at the front of the layout.

The scratch build of a pub for High Elven progresses. I have been working on creating the interior and in particular the benches for the customers to sit on.

Double sound delight for me over the last two weeks. Two 8F locomotives arrived. One from the Bachmann club came sound fitted (in LMS Crimson Lake) The other was the version as a LNER O6 and I fitted the Youchoos sound chip to it. I also complete more of the work on the pub including some customers, and I reveal its name and pub sign.

I have carried on the work of scratch building a pub and in this video you will see the pub to completion. I have also been working to create the hardstanding for the steam depot and started the work to ballast around the depot and the extensive point work. Here is to a healthy and Happy New Year to you all.

I had been putting off ballasting the front of the layout mainly because it contains about 80% of the points. However it had to be done and now that it complete and everything is still working I am pleased with the results. With that out the way I can start thinking seriously about the design of the engine shed I want to build. I also take a look at a brass etch kit of a church to keep me busy while I design the church.

While I was waiting for materials to arrive I had to find something for my idle hands to do. The front of the layout has bugged me for a while, particularly where the wiring from the point motors emerge on their way to the lever switches. Something had to be done. I also talk about the design of the engine shed that I will be scratch building, and in particular the materials I have acquired to build the roof.
