Top link modelling Steve the tunnel looks great nice job on the paint work going to look even better when you wave your weathering wand over it a few more times. The second tunnel looks like it will be just as impressive. You have a great network of people to draw on that produce very nice custom items for you
I do Chris I'm more of an interior designer bringing together quality products with a bit of my own work thrown in for good measure
Looks great Steve. I enjoy scenery building probably more than the other facets of the hobby. I'd say you do too ! I think I can see an active wasps nest in their ! Cheers, Gary.
I do enjoy the scenic aspect and it's a nice brake from the urban grot of Ranelagh Bridge. A lot of the scenic items I'm using are designed for war gaming and military modelling but suit our needs very well. There are a lot of top quality products out there that do make life easier for us. Especially if modelling time is at a premium
Got to agree with you there Steve. The products available to us these days are way better than died sawdust and garden twigs ! I do question why the war gamers have such a variety of scenic products considering model railways have been around for eons. Could it be that war gaming is a bigger hobby these days ?? Cheers, Gary.
I suppose it could be, there is a games work shop in most towns and cities now, where as there isn't a model railway shop. On this layout I've had scenics from Poland the U.S, Czech Republic, Germany, China & the UK
The polystyrene insulation board arrived today, I've cut two pieces giving a depth of 100mm. They have been glued together and will be left over night. In the morning I can tidy up the tunnel opening and cover it in decor fill. Once dry it can be painted Matt black. Once glued securely in place I can finish the scenic work at this end. Attached files
