Hi all ... because of space/storage restrictions etc in our apartment each future layout will now be a mini operating plonk in its own right using my existing baseboards 2 x 100cm x 23.5cm & 2 x 130cm x 25cm. This means previous builds will eventually be stripped and rebuilt depicting various themes. The first of these will be St Capra sheds using the Townsend items I won on comp 2 (similar track as follows) Attached files
Well well. Looks good. The Townstreet stuff should get you on your way there. I shall look forward to another masterpiece. Toto.
Hi Ian Sound like another gem is about to break cover The plan looks good for the MPD looking forward to seeing this build come together. Are you planing on a track on each module that is set to a specification so you can link one or two modules for a running session out on the terrace. Ian you could even build a shelf unit to display all the modules on whilst not in use
Hi Chris thanks for your support ... yes I'm planning on having a common track location on each module for the future. The plan is to have 4 individual mini running plonks each following a different theme. The coal drop plonk will be altered but the drop retained (it'll probably be a coal yard shunting layout). Early days yet the problem I keep encountering is storage for the plonks. With visitors staying regularly I'm stuck with the top of a wardrobe or the spare beds when they're not here. And as I enjoy the building side of modelling it should keep my entertained. Ian vt ... Ps the first plonk should be 'St Capra' ... I wonder why? ...
I'm facing similar dilemas, so will definately following this, just got to work out how the train starts in O then terminates at Viccy Rd in OO, but Toto reckons everything is solvable given enough drink http://www.click Paul
I will be looking forward to this build Ian. I wouldn't take Toto's advice unless you're going to bang a hole through the wall... Cheers, Gary.
Lack of space is the curse of all railway modellers Ian.......................... whatever gauge/scale you work in You'll find somewhere, looking forward to the (re)builds Ed
I've had an idea .... but it means this plonk is on hold ... again ... sorry all .... however a new larger (ambitious) self contained build will appear in the 'Plank' thread ... St Emilia ... (however I will come back to this plonk later) ... Ian vt ...
Ian, All you need is some sky hooks to store your layouts. Simples http://www.clickGormo the goat herder
