Well thanks to gormo, ive just spent a couple of hours with a coffee (or was it three) , my camera and a loco, plus some pictures from when I repaired a very sad looking Skytrex class 02 model purchased from the UK last year. Heres the result:- Thanks again gormo.http://www.click
You`re Welcome Kimbo, Way to go mate..........that`s an excellent result. And interesting to watch. http://www.click Gormo
Thanks Paul, If this is the way Kimbo starts into videos I think gormoVision may have some stiff competition when KimboVision gets into full swing. http://www.click Baron Von Gormo
Well, That was a very enjoyable set of images and video. If that is what can happen after one tutorial from the Barron, I'm having a go. A great mixture of stills and video. A fantastic little loco with great sound. The shunting moves were great to watch as well. I could watch these clips day and night. It's what I hope to achieve myself if I can only take my hand of the accelerator and slow my loco's down to about 150 mph. Thanks for posting Kim. And another thanks to Gormo for the inspiration picked up on by many I suspect. Cheers Toto
Totally agree, brilliant video, cracking little loco my only thought is do,es it need the background music? other than that, well done mate . Cheers, Pete.
Interesting Observation Pete.?? And who knows.???????.......some people like it, some don`t.....that`s what I`ve found in my movies. I think it`s an artistic licence thing, so I say to Kimbo, do as you see fit.....that`s what I would do. If people are not keen on the music, they can always turn the sound down. You also have to be careful with music and copyright. YouTube has a section which has music freely available for use with your clips, however if you use music from another source, you must make sure it`s royalty free and acknowledge the music and the author in your credits. http://www.click Gormo
Quite agree Gormo, all I am saying to me it is a distraction, I would rather hear the 02,s engine sounds than music, just sayin". Pete.
If a loco featured in a video has sound ...... Fair enough, feature it ( not essential though ) some nice easy listening music sometimes helps to get the mood going of a moving train. I like both. One thing though........ You seem to have the knack of picking some great tracks that get the foot going. Congratulations to you both though for your own take on how to present your videos. First class. Cheers Toto.
That's a great little video Kimbo ! watch out Gormo you got competition On the Music front I can see it from both sides, I quite like the music on the photo slide bit but agree its nice to here the loco so how about fading in and out the music ? is that possible with moviemaker ? so you get to here the music through the slides and at the beginning of the shunting , then fade out and back in right near the end. Having said that on Gormo's just running trains videos I like the fast paced music accompanying the locos running round Interesting little debate http://www.click Cheers Matt
Thanks for all your feed back. I think that on the next one I will only add the background music for pictures and then fade out and let the locomotive do the "talking" . I did think about this when making it and decided to leave it because the 02 does not have a huge range of sounds when shunting. Time for a steam loco version to compare.........
Watching this space Cheers Matt P S Kimbo , meant to ask , are you happy for your videos to be shared outside of the forum ? we may want to put one up on our Facebook page to help attract more members but that may also direct them to your Youtube page at the end
Video No2 I agree with others that this is a better format with back ground music just with the still pictures. To things I've learnt doing this one are 1) white backgrounds are not good and 2)auto focus does not work to well with the camera at low angles as it tends to focus on the track..... Kim
Much better, the loco sound is fantastic, and the camera angles were perfect, brilliant well done mate . More! Cheers, Pete.
Of course, you can always add 3d positional sound effects, so the loco sounds move in space in relation to the loco's movement - panning side to side and fading in and out. Got to give these budding Speilberg's a challenge, my mate Steve has to make enough money to retire Paul
Kim, That`s a mini work of art mate!!!........extremely well thought out and executed. What more can I say except...Well Done.. http://www.click Gormo
By the way, forgot to say really nice video. Gormo, your protegy is starting to raise the bar quite high, for the rest of us it could be nose bleed time Paul
