I bought a Black 5 last month and someone had replaced the BR (Late) logo on the tender with "British railways". It looked aweful and rubbed off with my finger nail!
Question is where is the best place to get decals from?

I need BR late crest logos, smokebox number and shed plate decals.

As said above most of the decals rubbed off with my fingernail, however there are some small bit remaining, what would be the best way to clean these up?

What remains after scraping with a fingernail can be removed with fine 'Wet/Dry paper with water as lubricant to leave a suitable smooth surface.
Decals adhere much better onto a gloss surface, so if the intended position isn't glossy, a quick coat of clear gloss varnish will give the required surface. The decals will need 'fixing' after drying using either matt or gloss varnish as a finish coat to choice. My decal supplier of choice is Fox Transfers, but others are available.
