Dear Andy, with all due respect, this is a Bristol ECW railbus, the body being based on the contemporary ECW "MW" ( Medium Weight ) 1957 single deck bus and coach body ref "Bristol Buses in Camera" Martin S. Curtis ( Ian Allan, 1984 ) using a Gardner 6HLW diesel ( Horizontal Light Weight )( 6cyl ) 112 bhp at 1200 rpm. ref "British Railways Locomotives Combined Volume and Locoshed Book Summer 1960" ( Ian Allan ABC reprint / Crecy ), Regards, Echidna.
Sorry Echidna, only going by what’s on the box. Not my subject. Hence why I’m selling. Gifted them with some other bits a few years ago (probably 10) and I’ve never done anything with them, son wants a class 58, so just trying to raise funds.
Sorry to disagree, but looking at the kit contents, it is most definitely a Derby lightweight (bogie) car. The instruction sheet does not match the contents. The sides make up into something rather longer than the railbus, and the 6-pane driving end (edit: ) and bogies are (end edit) a dead giveaway.
I can confirm that the drawing that the previous owner has printed appears to Be incorrect. It does to me look to be a Derby lightweight.
