G`day Folks, Episode 13 has arrived and contains two elements. The first element covers details on how to build a track cleaning car with some older footage added on to show it running. The second element is running session no.6 .....just for fun. This episode is reminiscent of old time movie theatres because there is an intermission added into the middle, to allow you get up and put the kettle on and grab a couple of bickies or whatever takes your fancy. Anyway must get back to the train room.....there is a train due at any moment........Enjoy the movie!! Direct Link to YouTube http://www.click Gormo
Great demo video about your track cleaning car and a great running session with plenty of variety. Maybe I could come over with some of my Southern locos and stock for a HUGE running session. Perhaps even bring Jack's streamlined A4 Mallard... Could be the next Just Running Trains video ! Cheers, Gary.
Sounds good Gary, It would be worth doing it just to stir up the rivet counters...actually we don`t seem to have rivet counters in our elite group of people on platform 1???....hope it stays that way. Heritage trains group under a broad umbrella ......you can run anything anywhere. Ed you didn`t comment on my little LMS Jinty pulling a rake of GWR coaches.????? Have another look mate!!! http://www.clickGormo
Great love it, must admit I miss the Gormo song, may have to start a campaign to get it reinstated. Thank you
Hi Gormo, You have excelled yourself with this episode. A great mix. The train running session is particularly well filmed. You are enjoying this too much mate. ........ Time to cut the wages I think. Again, well done and thanks for all your efforts. Toto
Now, Now Toto, You`re talking to an old union man here...!!!.......wage cuts????.....bbbbrrrggghhh!!! Oil av ta tork to da bruvvers.........everybody out!!!!!!......all those in favour???? Sorry mate....just remembering the old days......now these days in Oz you work 60 hours for 40 hours pay and you`re supposed to like it and be loyal to the company??????.......Hah!!!!.....not this little black duck!!!! Oh....thanks for your comments Toto.....much appreciated old son.. http://www.clickGormo
Yeah good idea Gary, And how about some softer paper in the loo......that stuff is like sand paper......and while I think of it the bruvvers don`t like the colour on the canteen tv. http://www.clickHappy Solidarity Gormo
Great video Gormo (yet again!), really liked the 'Intermission' thought that was a nice touch!! Thanks Ron
Gary wrote: Modeller's license, more like a very large dose of Rule 1 Great Chesterford is actually on the West Anglia Main Line, Great Eastern Railway. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Chesterford_railway_station Getting back to track cleaning, I've bought one of these which I think works much like Gormo's skid. Nothing goes in the tank, it's all down to the skid which is weighted. Not sure what the skid is made of. It's not exactly abrasive, feels a bit like felt, but solid. Allegedly, you can clean the pad in a dishwasher and spare pads are available, but a lot more expensive than hardboard/masonite. When I eventually get round to it, I'll let you know if it works for me. It has got some pretty good reviews in the US though. Ed
Oh C`mon Ed, You told me you wouldn`t tell the guys about the real Great Chesterford....fair dinkum mate !!!! Let us know how you go with the track cleaner.....looks interesting.???? http://www.click Gormo
Well, there's not much difference between Great Eastern Railway and Great Western Railway, just a 'W' missing and an 'a' too many. Hat, coat, gone, back below the parapet Ed
Well I guess when you look at it that way Ed.....you`re right....there`s not much difference.??? Trouble is......the real Great Chesterford is an absolutely beautiful little village with, unfortunately, an extremely ordinary looking station.......not worth modelling in my book. So Gormo has really gone over the top with modellers license this time.......so far over in fact that there is no resemblance whatsoever to the real thing. All I`ve done is pinch the name, because of family connections to the place, and I`ve created a completely fictional railway model. I must let the folks in Great Chesterford know that I`ve moved their community to the other side of the country.......I bet they didn`t feel a thing??? http://www.clickGormo
