    G`day Folks,
This will be my last Kit Bash video for a while as I think we need to move onto something different.
Don`t quite know what that might be just yet, but that has been the case from episode to episode of Gormo`s Shed since it started......who knows ????.....:scratchchin:
Anyway this episode covers a serious makeover of the classic Metclafe station kit.
Apologies to those who have already followed this build on my layout topic, so for those people I am repeating myself, but with the growth of the forum member numbers there will be those among the newbies who may not have caught up with this build, and in video format, it`s probably less tedious to follow.

The shape of the building is unchanged, but the red brick printed exterior walls have been skinned with Scalescenes TX02 brick paper. This is all in the cause of having individual models on my railway, as opposed to the same buildings that a good deal of other modellers have on their railways. Other things have been changed as well on the building, which is covered in the video.
I have no criticisms of Metcalfe or Superquick kits. They in fact provide a cheap and effective way of developing town and village scenes and railway scenes very quickly for your railway. It`s just a matter of popping out the parts and following the instructions and very soon you will have a very sturdy model building.
Because they are an easy alternative, they are quite popular with those new to the hobby or for those who are not yet confident enough to attempt a full on scratch build.
In my case, I concluded that they are indeed, a good base for kit bashing, or alteration probably would be more correct.
Once you`ve had a go at the standard kits, it`s time to lift the bar and either have a crack at altering some of them or moving on up to Scalescenes.
The Scalescenes kits require quite a bit more effort to build, however I would class them at the next level above the aforementioned kits, in terms of the look of the finished building.
With that in mind, what I am creating here is a hybrid, taking the base of one kit and clothing it with brick papers from another kit designer.......No harm in that folks and I would like to think that it may encourage others to have a go as it may eventually lead you into scratch building.
Anyway, enough waffling for now, so enjoy the video.
