    G`day Folks,

No.4 in the Handy Hints series once again is aimed primarily at the new modeller. On the other hand there may be some of you seasoned modellers that might find something of use therein.

I must say that I am going over old ground with one of the hints contained in this episode, in that it is a hint that was first aired here in Handy Hints No. 2. Nonetheless, this is a slightly improved method which I think is worth raising here once more.

You have a better chance this week of settling in with a beverage and some snacks as this episode is just under 14 1/2 minutes. Time enough for a swift half pint and a packet of crisps.

As I write this, it has just occurred to me that this could be a new way of measuring video lengths, wherein one could determine the amount of alcohol and crisps required to carry one through a set time period based upon ones known alcohol consumption rates in company with the amount of empty crisp packets accumulated over the same time frame. Possibly a mathematical equation could be created to simplify the task....eg ....1 PINT / 2 Pkts. Crisps = 1 x 1/2 Hour video....:scratchchin:

I amaze myself sometimes.....Albert Einstein eat your heart out...:avatar::avatar::avatar::avatar:

    Ooops........almost forgot the video....that`s why we`re here.!!!

Great hints. The cling film is something I've never thought of myself. simple but effective.

    Well Toto,

:scratchchin: I`ve given it some thought and I`ve come to the conclusion that peanuts and popcorn come in their own particular and sometimes, varied packages, therefore one would have to slightly adjust the equation to suit the particular product that one is consuming.

At the end of the day it would be more practical and relevant to produce and equation to suit each one, as the rates of consumption and sizes of packaging could vary considerably between crisps, peanuts and popcorn. Possibly a base factor could be used to which you add the quantity to suit the particular product you are using, which in turn would give you an accurate guideline to suit the product you are consuming, given that you usually consume that product at a set rate.

Of course we haven`t dealt with Jelly Beans yet as that is a whole new ball game requiring an infinitely more complex set of equations to achieve a result.......best to stay with the easy stuff....????

Probably based around chewing effort per gram of product. Work out the work done ( in joules ) to determine the effort by weight of product. :scratchchin:
