Hi folks at last i am doing a layout thread!, have to excuse the amount of pics lol. As you know its a very losely based gwr layout based around 1940's, 1950's era set in no particular area . So basically its a "I Built It Ill Run What I Want" layout Anyway, on with the pics in no particular order. This is how it started . Attached files
i have posted all the pics in my gallery , until i get to know how to do stuff on here lol My new workbench , made from old bunkbeds
This is a more upto date pic , but its more advanced now, just about to start ballasting Attached files
Thats a good start Derbys12 did you make your own track. Your workbench looks very tidy you should do a thread on that theres some on here would benifit . Ian
Coming along nicely. Looks like it'll be up and running before Toto's layout...! As for your work bench, well, that is fantastic. Beats me how you keep it so clean !! Cheers, Gary.
Now don't go upsetting our beloved flounder, after all he has the power - you may think you finished before, but will he allow the post to stand . Like the layout, not so sure about the tidy workbench, found a bit disturbing, but have printed a large version of it so when SWMBO looks in all she sees is the photo. Paul
Awwww nae need for that attitude. Great start to the layout. Not a million miles away from my own track plan in many respects. Excuse the daft question but am I correct in saying that it's O Gauge ? When I looked at the turnouts and saw the wee black boxes on them I had to think ......... Not my strong point you understand. Anyway .... Really good and like the others ..... Must congratulate you on the tidy ness of your work bench area. A great holder for all your paint, washes and powders as well. Like it. What are the rest of the plans for the layout. Electrics, point motors, control etc ? Looking forward to seeing it develop and thanks for the photos. Cheers Toto
The point control is by these, and peco point motors . I was using the minx micro drives, but what a pain in the *Donkey* to use!. So sold them . Control is by a ZTC controller which is a great bit of kit. The new version. Will post rest of pics today. Bench is clean as unused yet lol, paint storage is made from lats from the bunk bed . Won't let me add pic from gallery Attached files
Close up of the paint holder made from bed lats . The name Hady Hill came from an area i lived near in Chesterfield .For some reason the pic is sideways when its not where i uploaded, can anyone rotate it? Attached files
Sorry forgot the controller pic. Its the new model ZTC and i love it, also got the Prodigy, but this is miles better Attached files
Morning Toto, Hady Hill has a school at the top, St, Peter and Pauls, it is the home of Chesterfield model engineers and they have got a humongous miniature railway in G/1 scale, 5" and 71/4" gauge, so there is also a railway connection there. Hi Kevin, nice to see you are getting back on track,(pun intended), when I get back from my hols next weekend I will get in touch and organise a working session if you like, I will bring up a couple of my locos and have a play. Cheers, Pete.
