Hello new railway modelling chums. My name is Terry, I'm in my 40's and live in a small village in North Warwickshire, near the middle of England. I model British Rail 1957-63 but have an interest in most eras and many countries. I'm not so good with electrics, but I'm a keen kitbuilder/kitbasher for rolling stock and buildings.

Welcome Terry from a very blowy (50 - 60mph winds) and very wet (horizontal rain) Plymouth. Looking forward to seeing your plans etc.
G'day Terry, Welcome aboard from Sydney. Looking forward to seeing what you have been up to. If I'm correct, 1957-63 is that short lived period of BR green ! An excellent era. Cheers, Gary.
Gary wrote: 'G'day Gary, Thanks. 57-63 was the height of the diesel transition, with BR green diesels being introduced and taking over duties from steam. Even some of the most prestigious BR steamers were relegated to 2nd line or Departmental duties. So I have the scope to model a wide range of motive power and rolling stock.
Hi Terry, A man after my own heart. Same period as myself. I also have the beginning of a modern image interest as well. Cheers Toto
In the early 60's even the Catterick Flyer was hauled by an A4 occasionally, but I don't see where the Flyer bit came from. I used to pick it up at Bristol at about 8pm on Sunday evening and it got into Catterick Garrison at about 6.30 am. Monday morning, and some of the rolling stock on it was definitely ancient. Not built for comfort or speed. At the Garrison we transhipped onto 3-tonners to be taken to our various Barracks, so it meant a quick shower and change then off to breakfast.
Hi Terry and Aboard mate , Sorry I wasn't around to welcome you in but I see the guys have given you a warm welcome, looking forward to seeing some more of your great work and 'Stealing ' some of your tips and techniques ( P.S Love the green as well ) Cheers Matt
