Somewhat embarrassingly, I have had a JLRT Gresley Diagram 113 full brake sat on the edge of my workbench for the last couple of years. it had stalled at the final fitting of the roof stage.
On Sunday morning Chris asked me if I was ever going to finish it (it was a Christmas gift from her:scratchchin:) So late morning I got stuck into fitting the roof and by the end of the day I had not only fitted the roof I had added most of the underframe fittings too - I had prepared the buffer beams a couple of years ago.
So here it is sat on a pair of borrowed bogie - I put the original Gresley bogies supplied under my first Kirk Parcels van build - I have a pair of Newbould Models 8.0' Fox to go under this but they need making up.

I hope to make more rapid progress on this going forward....

Thanks, they need a good clean since they haven't been touched since I soldered them up a couple of years ago.
I have a second JLRT kit, to make a Diagram 114 which might get a built a good bit quicker than this one now that I have had the proverbial kick up the backside to get on with them.
Although thinking about it, I bought the D114 so......:avatar:

Wow those plastic sides are really clear, almost invisible :avatar:

Very nice model nicely put together, even if it has taken a while - just tell Chris "just like a good wine it shouldn't be rushed" - consequently it's also why I buy cheap wine - that can be rushed (often the quicker the better) :avatar:

    Hi Paul,
Your mention of clear sides reminded me of the Cooper Craft LNER Coronation set which were done in clear plastic in an attempt at getting flush glazing. Thankfully I only succumbed to the observation car before reading up on how difficult they were to assemble. That one made it onto the bay of E unopened....

I take it the brass corridor connection plates came as part of the Kit. They would make a nice upgrade to my easy build coaches.

    Cheers

They did and you can probably buy the etch but it comes on the same etch with the angle underframe truss so you would get those as well.
