Just received this kit today, it'll join the queue to be built, another 'Winter project' I guess. At least this kit (unlike my previous 'bargain buys') is very professionally presented in a proper colour printed box, four cards of components, packet of plastic parts, several brass frets, even transfers, although I won't be using these as they're "Southern Railway" and I'll build it as a BR/SR loco. There are even a pair of "Sir Francis Drake" nameplates in the kit, result, I think. Here's the box.

......and finally, plastic parts, brass frets, transfers, wire etc. Looks like it will make up into a nice model, motor/gears etc included, so really just paint, transfers and a smokebox numberplate to buy in addition. Can't grumble for £40 I reckon.

It can make up nicely, but beware the K's motor and wheels. The wheels are often distorted or out of round in K's kits.

I actually used the nameplates from my kit to rename and renumber one of my Bachmann models, but have alternate nameplates for the kit when I get around to finishing it off (if ever!).

Mine is remotored (but buried somewhere right now so I can't see or remember what I put into it) and has Maygib wheels - Romford/Markits wheels could be used but would have to be the finest profile available, and may still need the flanges skimmed because of the very fine clearances between the first and second driving axles.

My chassis runs but needs a little more work, and of course, nowadays I would need to convert it to DCC as well.

I am not good at building valve gears, so enlisted the help of my friend Doug, who also added springing to the axles, so I can't take too much credit for the working part of the model. :)

There are etched nameplates in the kit, which need to be painted and polished, but it looks like you have scored some extra CGW name plates as well. That's a win!
