    Hello
Since I started the scenic work on Little Weldon I have developed an interest in products that are contemporaries to Hornby Dublo. This is a developing interest as I discover more and more items and indeed manufacturers, at the moment I have been looking at Rolling Stock Kits. I recently acquired this rather magnificent Coach, possibly Kit or Scratchbuilt I can find no makers marks or name on any part of it. The Chassis is Brass, the Floor is Wooden and the Ends are cast White Metal I have yet to find out what the Sides or Roof are made from. The Coach weighs a whopping great 188g, anybody have any ideas as to the providence of this particular Coach ? IMG_20220529_071008.jpg IMG_20220529_070946.jpg

This is quite interesting...I have heard modelers talk about building their carriages out of timber but this is the first I have seen a wooden kit.

Looking forward to the completed project.

    Hello
There has been another increase in the population of Little Weldon. This group are really interesting as they were packaged and sold by Trix Twin Railways ( TTR ) but made by Britains. s-l1600.jpg

I'm guessing these figures are cast metal and not plastic ? The station bench seat certainly looks like cast metal.

Got to ask, is the crate on the left a pigeon crate ? I do believe pigeon racing was big back in the day.

    Cheers, Gary.

    Hello
Gary you are right these are all White Metal castings, as far as I can make out the two trunks are of plain Wicker Work. IMG_20220810_191228.jpg

    Hello
It has been a while since I posted anything about Little Weldon, because I kind of lost my mojo. Due to having the house totally rewired during the late summer. Oh my God! What an upheaval that caused throughout the property, it certainly made us look at things. Quite a number of bags ended up going to the Charity Shop.
Regarding Little Weldon I have lost half of the power points in the Railway Room unfortunately the half where all the controls are plugged into. Rather than relocating everything I decided to run an extension lead halfway round the layout, I'm not to keen on this arrangement though. I've had a couple of running sessions over the last few weeks and I am a bit more enthusiastic about the layout again.
I have learnt the hard way not to site tall objects at the front of the layout, the Airfix Windmill suffered serious Sail loss due to this. I have now moved it over to the far corner. I'm now left with the empty hole in the Sheep field so modelling this area is going to be my next project maybe starting this weekend.
I have also managed to acquire a pair of rather rare Master Model Ground Signals I would like some more but they are not easy to find. IMG_20221113_111002.jpg IMG_20221103_061456_kindlephoto-377181642.jpg IMG_20221103_061429_kindlephoto-377385331.jpg

    Hello
    Breaking News.
Due to Windmill re-location, archaeologists have been digging within the vacated ground works. A major discovery has been found, an elegant Mosaic Villa floor. This has once more opened up the debate about the extent of Roman Weldonium. IMG_20221127_111739.jpg IMG_20221127_111726.jpg

    Hello
Both the Carriage and Wagon, and the Works departments have been very busy during the last few weeks. Little Weldon's fleet of Peco Wonderful Wagon's has been growing. There is a rather limited selection of Private Owner Wagon's within the Dublo range particularly during the Tinplate days. This has added some colour and variety to the Rolling Stock. The Works department after five years have built a Paling fence and added it to the rear of the Up platform of Little Weldon Station and both Station's now have name boards. Mean while the Locomotive department are currently soaking a Gaiety Pannier body in Dettol, a HD 2 rail R2 chassis has been acquired to power the engine. This is waiting conversion to enable it to run. IMG_20221204_152717.jpg IMG_20230129_120822.jpg IMG_20230129_120817.jpg IMG_20230129_120658.jpg

    Hello
I kind of lost my enthusiasm during most of this year but finally it has started to return. Nothing of much note has occurred within the Weldon's for the bulk of this year. But I have still been seeking out vintage models for the layout. I now have enough Trix Yard Lamps and Triang Station lights to enable the lighting of the Loco Yard to take place.
I have also managed to find some more Trix Illuminated Signals so these will now start to appear.
Motive power wise I have a Kitmaster Schools Loco and Four SR Coaches one of which has the power Bogey to construct. That should be an interesting project. I need to find the Peco Carriage interior kit now.
Several more vintage people are also awaiting their turns under the paintbrush.
I have now cleaned the layout which took seven and a half hours. Cleaning and Servicing the Locos and Stock is currently taking place, I hope to have a running session over the next few days. IMG_20231125_162057.jpg IMG_20231125_162042.jpg IMG_20231125_162113.jpg

    Hello.
I had a running session earlier, that was certainly good for the soul. I also managed to finish an old Airfix kit of the 20t Cattle Wagon I'm just awaiting some Dublo couplings. IMG_20240225_121338.jpg IMG_20240225_125337.jpg IMG_20240102_162953.jpg IMG_20240225_121253.jpg
