The latest arrival to the O Gauge fleet. An LNER Loco Coal Wagon Kit ....... or two. Look pretty good. cheers Toto
Nice .... Just added to my fleet as well, 1 x 7 plank and 2 x 8 plank Enjoy the hols - did you manage to get your stockings and sussy belt Paul
Well get the pictures ( or the links ) up ....... geeeeeeeesh. and yes and a new pair of sling backs. cheers toto
Well, here is todays victim, and the parts list, and again, and the last. So ....... thats the starting point. It looks a bit more straight forward than the fruit van was. especially the braking gear. Hopefully it will go without any hiccups and I may end up with something that resembles the intended coal wagon. I'll post up my progress as I go. cheers toto
Well ...... progress but mixed. started to put the basic structure together, and another, looks ok ....... spotted the deliberate mistake yet ........... mmmmm yes ...... I've glued that side panel on upside down ........ ohhhhhh brother. however ...... never noticed it until much later by which time it had set solid. Anyway onwards ..... The above is the correct way. V Hangers fitted, axle boxes and slidy doofers fitted and wheels and axles fitted. here is another, and one last one for now. I've stopped for now as I was spitting feathers when I discovered the mistake and thought it better to gather the toys back into the pram before continuing as the next bit is the most finicky. So ........ whats left ....... the buffer assemblies which are easy enough and of course the dreaded brake gear assemblies. So ..... we know whats coming next, I'll post up the last of the build as it unfolds. cheers toto
Problem solved. the side broke away clean after some gentle pressure was applied. Now back on ....... the correct way up ........ muppet. cheers toto
And the build continued .......... All brakes etc in place, and another ...... and the buffers ....... and some more ....... Now ..... there are a couple of copper bars to go across each end to act as handles but they sure are a bit delicate so I thought I'd leave them off until the impending visit to the paint shop. all comments welcome. cheers toto
Weldone sir.... See all mistakes are curable - well most are , and in doing so your confidence will grow Paul
It was a bit of o howler though. Not a wee daft bit, ....... The whole side upside down. Never mind ....... True to my word on my first real forum post " warts an all ". Cheers Toto
A small amount of glue applied to the joint which will soften the plastic enough and make the separation lot easier. Cheers, Gary. Edit... the model looks good !
Don't worry Toto, we all have those moments, my last one like that was installing all the brake gear with the model upside down on the bench "as you do" only to turn the wagon up the right way to discover it was all at the wrong end for the wagons body detail. Guess what no one has ever noticed and even with photos of the prototype next to it, with the model on display, it won a place in a modelling comp. Great Recovey Toto The wagon is looking good much easier brake setup on this one. No2 finished by the end the Sunday The O scale bug has really bitten at your place. http://www.click
The postie has put in for compensation - O gauge boxes are heavier than OO, there's always consequences of every decision Paul
Next you'll be telling us you were aiming at a world wide audience, and put the side on upside down for our Ozzie O gauge modellers so it would look right Just a tip for the next one - Buffers, the flat on the base should be at the top parallel to the buffer beam. Paint shop here he comes ........ Paul
