Well ..... must hit the shed later today. A couple of little bits to finish off the ground cover. A badly bit around the point throw bar and some more scatter on some of the rock faces.

I also need to throw together s tool kit for next weekend. Pack some spares like Cobalts etc as I won't have time when I get back up the road on Thursday from Preston. I'm on a Contract refresher course for NEC forms of Contract. Starts at 9 am and finishes at 5 pm. I should be up in Edinburgh for around 8.30 - 9.00 pm. His nibs will be down from Dundee to get Luib Bridge into the van ready for the Friday morning. Also stock boxes, tools, and all that guff.

    A busy week ahead.

Looking forward to a beer and a curry on the Saturday night. I'll post up on the Saturday evening with the latest developments. :avatar:

    Cheers

Well, I got out into the shed today and started packing some tools and stuff. Also realised that the baseboard had not been painted black ...... so .....

Done ........ or at least the bits you will be able to see .... :avatar:

I decided to paint the front of the tunnel mouths black as a temporary measure until I get the tunnel fascia built. it looks better than having it white as it was previously.

There has also been another loco added to the stock box in the shape of this chap ......

I had its earlier cousin in BR black running at Dundee and it ran pretty faultlessly so decided to take the other one along this time.

The layout will be bigger so will be able to take more stock and free up a couple of lanes on the traversers making choice of movements a bit easier. In theory anyway.

    cheers for now

Still got some ground coverings to finish off so I hope that I will be able to do that on Tuesday night when I get back from Banff and before heading down to Preston on the Wednesday. it should only take an hour or so and will make a bit of a difference.

    cheers

Not that we're leaving things a little tight, but as Toto defined the standard for our modular layouts (4'6" long 20" wide), with the track entering and leaving the layout 10" from the front edge, I've had to build an adapter board to go between Luib Bridge and Another Bridge. Starting at 20" at the Another bridge going to a Toto standard 20" board measuring 28" wide. :whatever: :avatar:

Board built on three sides and now the the extra bit - pgoto's to follow as I forgot to upload them first :whatever:

    Bit more progress

2nd 3mm ply secured, and foam added as a filler

It's too late to start the router up, so I'll trim the outer ply layer to size and see if I can get a coat of black paint on the front face.

Mein gott .... It's been a while. :avatar: Luib Bridge languishes in Dundee since Elgin. I now have some space in the shed to facilitate the laying out of some other projects for example my good shed build. Question is ..... Will I muster the enthusiasm to get it built anytime soon.

Does anybody have any getyourassingear tablets. :avatar: don't know if these are available on the NHS.

I've got some tablets for you. But they will cost you a completed O gauge goods shed... :avatar::avatar:

    Hi Charost,

I need to create a fascia for the tunnel entrances next. I also have a problem with one section of track which is out of gauge a bit and is causing derailments.

There is also a goods shed to build for it which is a substantial build.

    Still plenty to do yet.

    Cheers

    Toto

    Hi Kevin,

Thanks for your kind comments. It was Dundee Paul who tutored me on how to achieve the rock face. It is not too difficult once you get the hang of it. I have some plaster moulds for the main elements then it was some plaster bandage and neat plaster of Paris for the rest.

A base coat of grey followed by some dry brushing for the shadows and the highlights. It really is very effective. You will see the resemblance between Luib Bridge and Paul's layout " Another Bridge " the same technique was used in both.

I have had a couple of attempts at the tunnel face but have not came up with what I wanted yet but will eventually get back on the case.

    Cheers

Hi Toto, what have you been "attempting" with?
I have just bought some clay, to start off the investigation to see if I can make portals from hand carved/ plaster casting combo.
