Hi Chris, hoping so. much more useable storage space. things will look better still over the next few days. I'm going to have a dedicated spray booth area with somewhere to leave projects to dry off etc. more storage to come as well. I'll try not to collect any more junk to fill it up. Wait until you see the drivers seat. I think you in particular will appreciate it. No more huge layouts, just manageable modules ( that add up to a huge layout ) I am contemplating selling off all that is OO scale. haven't made up my mind yet. it will help pay for the O Gauge plans. O Gauge has bitten. cheers toto
Never say never . I hope not. however, if I have any more grief with this one, it probably will be. its been fine since the new floor went in. meanwhile ....... carry on. cheers toto
Better hope SWMBO tablet's battery is flat - that sort of rumor can seriously damage Toto's health Paul
Good morning campers. to another fun packed day ........ oh well, at least I have optimism. it's another day scheduled for the shed. Today I am moving on to building either my work bench or my tall boy cupboard which is situated just as you come in the door. I'm still mulling the work bench over in my mind yet as I can't quite " see it " if you know what I mean. I'll need to get a thicker ply or MDF cut. As Paul pointed out in a conversation last night there will be a vice going on it, albeit a small one but it will take a bit of a load and possibly a bit of weight. It's also 1.8 m long so may be susceptible to a bit of flexing. I'm on the case. I'll let you know how it pans out later. Cheers for now Toto
I had thought of that Ron if I could something inexpensive. It's either that or a bit of thick MDF. I'll have a ponder. I can do my tall boy first until I have worked out exactly what I'm going to do. Cheers Toto
Check out evil bay, some where, some one will be wanting to dispose of a kitchen ! Cheers, Gary. ps, that shed would make for a great OO layout....
paul_l wrote: Now, is Paul suggesting 4 x OO layouts..., oo oo oo oo... Now that is evil ! Cheers, Gary.
Now there is an idea. I think I could do 6 levels. however, I'll just make do with the one for now. Just been to B & Q and got more ply. Spray booth and tall boy coming up. Save the work bench till last. Finish my coffee then it's the shed. I'll post up more pictures later. Cheers Toto
Spray booth and tall boy done. I need to cut out for an extractor fan but no big deal. I'll catch up with that. Now, the last of the big jobs to complete the main refurbishment, the work bench. I'm having a little look at what I'm going to do with this as I am still not convinced that I know what I want out of it yet. I won't nEed to paint on it although there would be nothing stopping me doing that as well. There would be kit buildings and kit loco's and rolling stock being built, chipped etc. There will be a screen / monitor for my JMRI for programming loco's and checking CV's etc. A solder station and small fiddly jobs. I'm still pondering on the best set up. Suppose I should start with the basic bench first and see where my imagination takes me. One last trip to B & Q then to get a 1.8 metre length of something. I'll post up my progress pictures soon. Cheers Toto
As promised, the spray booth area. and another, and some more cupboard / shelving space for storage. It actually paid dividends to build that as it forced me to move the light switch into an easier to operate position. thats all for now. Dinner time then possibly onto the work bench area. cheers for now toto
Hi Ron, Yes, plenty progress so far and still have a good few days to go yet. I hope to have the work bench progressed to some degree tonight. My plan is to have all the work done then set up Luib Bridge for a play and to start the actual modifications to the canal section. straight into the modelling. I'm on a buzz now. More progress reports as they happen. cheers toto
Been and got a section of work top. it was in the clearance items as it was damaged but good enough for what I wanted it for. nothing to fancy still to finish the surroundings but thats part of tomorrows job. thats all for today. I'm going for a well deserved coffee and a mooch to see what everyone else has been up to. cheers for now, until tomorrow. toto
Hi Ian, still got a bit to go yet. the work bench is only sitting in place as yet. i will be adding bits of trim to give it more of a finished look. A couple of shelves to hold the lotions and potions and a couple of double sockets above work top height for soldering irons and small power tools ( dremmel etc ). It is getting there though. I have a mounting plate for my monitor and a few other bits and pieces to fit out to bring it together and operational. Also a hole to cut for the spray booth extractor fan. That can maybe wait for now. we'll see how much time I have. The bulk of it is done so I'm quite happy. Should be running a train or two by the weekend. I need something to show for when Gormo visits. Back to the grind tomorrow. cheers toto
