I have just finished reading the fourth book of five so far published in this series by Neil Parkhouse. I have quite a library of Railway Books and the books in this series are among the best I have, alongside a number from the same publisher, Lightmoor Press. ..... http://rogerfarnworth.com/2020/04/1...l-parkhouse-british-railway-history-in-colour
Some superb photography captured there, makes you realise just how poorly the standard of husbandry on modern railways are these days comared to how tidy everything looked back then.
When SWMBO decided I needed to do some decorating all my railway books were put in the shed with most of the furniture. Anyway it gave me a chance to re read some of them and it also stood out how well the lineside and infrastructure was maintained, my library is mainly LNER and BR, NE. Plus a goodly selection of industrial, most are a mix of black and white and colour and for the most part very clear and sharp, an excellent resource for modelling. Cheers, Pete.
