Hi There My Name is Bob Sims I live close to Inverness. I am a 65 year old widower train nut. I have a 16 mm narrow gauge Railway (The Black Isle Light Railway Company) in my garden. The track of which I have just finished laying. I have an 00 gauge layout of Golspie in the spare bedroom which I am about to demolish, as I am moving the trains to the loft (bigger). The planned DCC railway will have a version of Kyle of Lochalsh terminus a main line run around and a country scene and a motive power dept. I plan to retire at the end of next year so I should be able to spend more time with the trains. Anyway that’s all for now. Thanks for viewing All the best http://www.click Bob
G'day Bob, Welcome aboard from sunny Sydney. You have joined a great bunch of modellers here with a wealth of skills and experience covering everything from electrickery to scenery and those other bits that fit somewhere in the middle ! Have a good look around and have a read of some of the great topics. Looking forward to seeing pics of the 16mm garden railway, the about to be demolished layout in the spare bedroom and of course, looking forward to the next new venture in the loft. Enjoy your stay here. Cheers, Gary.
Hi Bob, You haven't wasted any time. sounds like you have been a bit occupied with the odd project or two. Fantastic stuff. A garden layout as well ...... Lucky man. Mind and let us see some pictures of the soon to be demolished layout before it bites the dust. Good luck with all your projects. I am sure you'll find some inspiration and advice on here if you need it. You can always enjoy just chewing the fat as well. It's amazing what ideas just come out of conversations. Looking forward to following along. Cheers Toto

Toto wrote: What you mean the Garden railway stuff it's way too tempting isn't it, I've been eyeing off the C38 that's being offered by this company would get one but the price will buy lots of smaller models or a second hand car, what to do. http://www.argyleloco.com.au/argyle_locomotives.htm#C38
These links should be banned. . The best I'd get to would be a twin circuit around the garden fence in O gauge at best but I ain't going there. The price of those loco's she'd kill me...... no ....... not ever ...... for now. .... well ....... only kidding .. no. but thanks for the link. I'm outa here.
But more importantly he's modelling Gods country, all power to the Highland. Love to see piccies of Golspie before the hammer hits, although, unless you intend to re - use parts from Golspie for the new layout, may be worth staying the hammer until you have something to run on in the loft, our winters can be long and wet. Welcome to the forum and looking forward to the tales of adventure as the railway heads into the wilds of the Highlands, sorry loft. Paul
At last, another member heading for the loft like myself! Seems there are more 'shed/garage' layouts than lofts, at least with a loft ( if you do it right) it's an 'all-weather' setup, and in the UK, garage and shed layouts are either summer only or only for the hardy types! Looking forward to seeing this progress Bob, and welcome. Keith.
Hi Bob, you should be ok for popping in when we do our promotion at the Elgin Exhibition. Just one rule ....... you cant come without a coffee. We will have Victoria Road with us ( Pauls layout ) and of course doing our bit for the forum with the platform 1 stand. It would be great to meet up with you. How are you with an NCE controller ?????/ I think its a Saturday only affair. cheers toto
Thanks for all your kind words of welcome. I have posted a few photos of Golspie in the appropriate place on the site. I hope you like them. I will do the same for the garden Railway. Toto I will be at Elgin in Novermber. I have never used a NCE controller. but that doesn’t mean I cannot learn. I am going to the Inverness Show today. all the best Bob
Hi Bob, enjoy the Inverness show. Mind the camera ........ and the wallet. We'll look forward to seeing you in Elgin. The NCE is quite easy to get a grip of. Question is ........... can you do the " kadee shuffle " It should be a good show. The bacon butties are on me. cheers. toto
