    Hello,
I’ve recently bought my father 2 of the new Hornby 6 wheel generic coaches in LNER teak livery. These come with the added lighting inside.

externally they look the part with some great detail and add on foot boards to complete. I have to say, I’m quite impressed and personally fancy some of the LNWR ones or LMS red ones to run as something North Staffs area.
Any suggestions for any more appropriate locos RTR are welcome.

I will return to this soon and bring some more details and photos.

They look really nice, although personally I'm waiting for the hattons genesis coaches.
I do like the idea of the hornby magnetic lighting system, which I think I may be able to add to a few of my kit built coaches.....

My only concern is that they are battery powered.
Shame there is no DCC option … yet.

I'm sure, with a little thought (trial and error) they could possibly be adapted....

Pickups are easy enough to fabricate Andy, and using a cheap switch only (no motor control) decoder and a DC rectifier circuit (remembering that DCC voltage is a square wave AC voltage), it's a simple job to do to enable control via your DCC throttle.
