Now most of you know I'm a very busy guy with multiple projects but what you wouldn't no is that I also collect a bit of U.S HO scale! I intend on starting a layout very soon. This will be a home layout and will live under Ranelagh Bridge.
I do need to build an extension on the railway room so I can get a loop in on the left hand side. That won't be until next year but I do intend to start on the scenic portion soon.
I choose the Notfolk & Western as they was the last steam railroad in America. I've always had more than a passing interest in US railroads as the sheer size is so impressive.
I did first look at the Union Pacific with its big boys and challengers but something about the N&W drew me to it. The queen of the rails the streamlined J 4,8,4 passenger locomotives were a big deciding factor for choosing the N&W.
The main source of traffic was coal from deep in the coal fields of West Virginia.
Here is my Y6b with an addition water tender, the auxiliary tender arrived yesterday. These were the biggest Locos on the railroad. These models are from Broadway limited and are DCC fitted with sound. They can also be connected to a wireless subwoofer ( rolling thunder ) which massively enhanced the sound. The rolling thunder system has just arrived as well.
This thread will be quite quiet at times as it does take second place to my O gauge activities.

This is the next locomotive that I have on pre order the A class, slightly smaller than the Y6. It will have the same type of DCC sound decoder on board that will wirelessly link to the stand alone subwoofer.
I expect it to be available around Christmas.

A couple of box cars, the American out line stuff is very highly detailed and is very good value for money

The mighty J 4,8,4 streamlined locomotive, probably the most efficient steam locomotive ever built

Like yourself Steve, I've a few irons in the fire, the B&O being one of them, but are firmly packed in boxes, Viccy road must be completed :whatever:.

I have decide, that the 11'6" I have will take replaceable modules, currently OO, next up O then possible HO or P4 after that.
